Strength:
Pure, clean power. Built like a tank.
Weakness:
Poor RCA connections. While removing RCA cables be very careful because they are not secured to the frame but to the circuit board directly. This will break the solder joints and requires repair.I understand the "MK2" has improvements that fix this problem. Got lucky on an auction and among other items a Cinepro 3K6 was discovered inside. Little did I know what kind of amplifier I found. This amplifier has loads of clean, uncolored power. I have it running in 5 channel mode(bridged channel running a homemade 18 inch sub)I have a Bryston 4b running the center channel and wow. I have this system for sound only and can't get enough. Pop on Aaron Neville's DVD Audio disc and you're in heaven. Similar Products Used: Adcom GFA-555,Bryston 4B,Threshhold SA300 |

Pure ,clean quality power.
Weakness:
none The Cinepro 3K6III 6x400 watt/channel amp is truly “the mother of all home theater amps”. Yes, that’s a quote from an audio review article and here are a few more from others. Massive raw high quality power, absolutely quiet , spectacular, enormous power, best parts, low distortion, astounding, clean clear power ,world-class, outstanding, its the ultimate six channel power amplifier. Guess what ? It’s all true. So very ,very true. Everyone is always searching around for the best receiver the best DVD player the best speakers, the best projectors. Well if you are looking for the best theater amplifier the buck stops here with The Cinepro 3K6III .You don’t have to take my word for it. Look into what most audio experts have to say about amplifiers and I can assure you practically all of them will have the Cinepro at the top of their lists for premier power amplification. I’ve been into audio and video for nearly 50 years and could write a book about all the equipment I owned during the time. That being said I feel confident in telling you that my search for the perfect theater amp is over. Yours will be too once you put one of these beautiful no nonsense power units in your system. It has become a prized possession in my home entertainment center .If you want peoples jaws to drop when you crank on your system then get your hands on of these babies. I like the product and the the people who manufacture and back it up with their expert down to earth friendly support. That includes being able to discuss the Cinepro products with the president of the company , Eric Abraham, who always has time for his customers. He is a class act who represents a fine company making a great product. What more could you ask for? Similar Products Used: Aragon, sunfire |

Strength:
Powerful specifications. A real price performer!
Weakness:
Pretty heavy at 70lbs! Also, it makes less capable components in your setup stand out more. I am long time home theater enthusiast who’s been building integrated TV and sound systems since the early days of VHS (1977), back when big screen meant 25 inch, and multichannel sound was called quadraphonic! Fortunately for me as technology improved, my ability to afford it stayed with it but I've never purchased anything just because I could or because someone else said I needed it. I have incrementally improved my system over the years and early in 1999 I made a BIG jump by introducing a power amplifier to my integrated system. I'd previously been using a Yamaha DSP-A3090 (80W) to drive a surround array of B&W speakers and after sampling what Adcoms and Sunfires sounded like, I decided that my new HDTV needed MORE power. So after much researching and comparing of specifications I decided to go with the new Cinepro 3k6II. This is a 375w x 6 (into 8 ohms) behemoth! The Yamaha was relegated to the role of surround processor with the Cinepro doing the real work. The results; Movies that Move you! (Quite literally!) I'm not an audiophile who can tell by ear which way the copper is twisted inside a cable jacket, but I know what I like about going to movie theaters and “that” and more is now in my living room! When I first tried out the movie Twister, at reference volume, it practically takes your breath away. The sense of overwhelming power IS breath taking. Movies like Independence Day and Godzilla (aka God-awful) become honest to god "movie experiences". No, that's really true. This is BETTER than the movie theaters I've been to! The President and chief designer at Cinepro, Eric Abraham recommended to me that if I had the proper wiring, to go ahead and run the 3k6II off a 240v, 20amp dedicated circuit. Even though the unit is "only" spec'd to 375 watts into 8 ohms, it can on this type of circuit actually be benchmeasured to 500 watts. I'm glad I took him up on it, though my neighbors may have other opinions! The only regretful thing about this amp is what it's really cost me since buying it. You see, this amp can really produce when it it's fed properly, and given adequate speakers for the task. Though I enjoyed my setup of all B&W 600 series speakers, they were never really challenged by the Yamaha. As a result, I've spent the year since getting the Cinepro, upgrading all my speakers which now are B&W Nautilus 803's for front left & right, a "pair" of B&W Matrix 803 Series 2 for my center channels (each getting their own amplifier channel out of the Cinepro), another pair of Matrix 803 Series 2 speaker for my surround left and right speaker. The only thing missing was DTS and a better processor. When Santa brought a Lexicon MC-1, we reach a level sound performance (and spending) that I'd never expected to reach. With the Lexicon able to drive 7 channels, I took the old Yamaha and separated its front left & right amplifiers to drive an old pair of B&W 604's as the rear channels. The 80 watts driving them are no comparison to the other channels, so I'll be looking soon for two more high power channels (Cinepro 1K2), but let me tell you. As highly as I regarded the Cinepro 3k6II amp before, it absolutely DEVASTATES now! The details that the new Lexicon provide are so clearly defined through the Cinepro to the Nautilus and Matrix class speakers, that I'd even compare my sound system to wonderful setups that IMAX theaters have. The DTS version of “Saving Private Ryan” in my living room (literally) blows away the experience I had in real movie house, itself using DTS. The Surround EX soundtrack on “The Haunting” is quite the experience too, and the old standby “Jurassic Park” seriously kicks butt! Similar Products Used: Compared with Sunfire and Adcoms |

Strength:
Unlimited clean power.
Weakness:
None. I've had my 3k6 for a little over a year now and it still never ceases to amaze me ever day.It is imposible to make it clip or struggle, even with DTS material at very high levels, and my 3k6 is driving a passive sub with the 6th channel.I have never owned a power amp that cannot be over loaded. The 3k6 cannot be overloaded, even if you try. |

Strength:
Loads of power, lots of detail and resolution, very musical and accurate, excellent imaging
Weakness:
Runs hot Using all 6 channels to run B&W 801s (front), HTM (center), 805s + 800ASW (rear), and NHT SW3 (LFE)through an Acurus ACT-3. The power to handle the 20dB changes from dialog to very loud special effects is fantastic. Anybody who believes you can do this with 75-100 wpc hasn't heard the real thing. On 2-channel music it's as good as any of the audiophile amps I've had in the past. Compared it to a lot of other multi-channel amps before I bought and it was an easy choice. Strength:
POWER!
Weakness:
Lights dim when the unit is turned on Great AMP, no issues except for the weight and the fact that it should be on a dedicated line. I have the unit in an enclosed space, but it never gets warm. Driving 2 B&W 802's, 1 B&W HTM, and 2 M&K Tripoles and it never breaks a sweat. (Saving the 6th channel for the new EX format). Similar Products Used: NAD, PROCEED, Marantz mono blocks |

Strength:
Superb sound, power and more power.
Weakness:
none as yet I was in need of better sound with my Onkyo 989 Receiver and my passive because the 989 used to go into protection mode at reference level on 1 or 2 passages(the Train Trailer on the Dolby Digital DVD). During the course of the last 10 months, I have used a variety of amplifiers. Before the Cinepro, I was using the Parasound and the MCA-3 because I needed 5 channels of amplification. I wanted to reduce the equipment from my rack without sacrificing performance. Many of the multi-channel amplifiers do not deliver the same power into all five channels that they do into one or two. I had read some great reviews on Cinepro and decided to get one of the closeouts from their website. I ordered a 3K6II for around $2500 including shipping. I somehow managed to screw up the auto-on circuit and called Cinepro in a panic. I got Eric(the president of Cinepro) and he patiently worked with me until I was able to bypass that circuit to get the amplifier to work. He even gave me his home phone number, now how is that for service. Now I just leave it on all the time, seems to sound better that way.
