Soundstage,Clarity,Detailed,Very Musical and Clarity

Outstanding Musical presentation, The only possible weakness would be a slightly leaner bass than Amps at triple the price. The bass is very tight and controlled. Soundstage is wide and deep, this unit will leave you awestruck with the right equipment and a good recording. The clarity is breathtaking. This amp will make you pull out all your old recordings. Value scoring has to be a Six, as the owner of multiple CJ units; this amp would be there best kept secret. I'm writing this review because all audiophiles should be aware of "Bang for the Buck" products and for around a $1000 this is a can't miss.

Built like a tank; runs cool; good value

Weak bass and a little dark.

Maybe this amp does not go with my system? It sounded a little dark, which is strange in a way because my system otherwise is on the bright side. Bass was fair. Treble was rolled off I guess in an attempt to get a tube like sound.
Does not work for me.

Well,there is definetely a lot to say about the power of suggestion,so when I unpacked this beautiful champagne,bad boy and found the owners manual for the cj MF2000 series instead of the correct one I just put it aside to omit any mental distraction from my opinion of my new found glory. After hook up,I put in my favorite recordings and sat down for five hours! Those five hours were some of the best of my audible memory. This amp is phenomenal. For about a thousand bucks you get about 2000.00 dollars worth. Immediatly I noticed my soundstage expanded like an anamorphic widescreen DVD would on a tv. A very natural sound was present,free from coloration,giving the music a visual of a comfortable,New England day in autumn. Transients were fast. The sense of depth was truly wonderful allowing me to listen INTO recordings I've had for years,but always felt as if I was looking through a looking glass. I will admit I am using a tube pre-amp with this beauty,but I did audition it with ss and found that these characteristics to be true to the amp. After listening for some time I went back to that owners manual,which is for the higher end cj amps. I read through it,including some reviews that are packed within. Amazingly,the descriptions given withn the pages also reflected my feelings of it's younger brother,which was just a cherry a top an already tasty banana split!! For the money,I do not believe you are going to find a better deal for entry level high end. Possibly even mid level??
