Strength:

Simple, no frills amp. Reveals alot of detail, clear, powerful(sounds louder and more powerful then most av amps that are rated at 70+wpc), build quality

Weakness:

honestly cannot fault its sound or design.

Beautiful little amp, headhphone jack is at front on my model. Build quality is very good and the amp is quite heavy considering its size. Sound quality is excellent, no added distortion or coloring of the sound. I found bass to be very good on mine, maybe its cus my speakers are close to the wall. overall, I love the sound produced and I cant fault its design.

Strength:

Astonishing Transparency and Resolution throughout the frequency Range, 3D Imaging, Speed, Power belies it's 2x25W RMS Rating - One of the best Sounding Amps ever made at ANY Price!

Weakness:

Noisy Input/Recording Selectors and Volume Control (Need to be turned several times back and forth to eliminate noise), No MC Phono Stage

What can i say about this Amp! I bought mine in 1987 and since then i have yet to hear a more transparent amp at any price. Clarity, Speed, Resolution and Imaging are all simply amazing and if you are nutpicking you could say that bass is a bit lightweight (although amazingly fast, controlled and tuneful). Dont forget that this amp is rated at just 2x25W RMS! Overall this is a Classic amp which is still a giant killer after so many years.

Strength:

Sound. Size. Power. Price.

Weakness:

None.

I have owned many Cyrus products and a few other makes. All have been great in their own way but this little Cyrus One stands out because it has the lowest power rating at 25 watts, yet manages one of the best sounds I ever heard. The one I have is one of the last ones produced and it is a 240v unit from England but it works fine with my 110v-230v converter here in Canada. You can buy these relatively cheap nowadays but the sonic rewards would normally merit a much, much higher price tag. My B&W DM602s3 speakers sound incredible with this amp. I couldn't be happier.

Strength:

Clarity, build quality (still going after nearly 20 years), detailing.

Weakness:

Needs careful matching due to low power output and lean bass.

This has become the heart of my system and replaced my old Aiwa amp and I have never looked back. The extra detailing is immediately obvious and is the highlight of the amp, and though the bass can sound lean it is very even across the range. Could sound a little bright with the wrong electronics, or too clinical but with the right parts the overall sound is exceptional. There are two main problems I have had: a faulty power switch (twice) and on occasion the right channel fades which I think is a problem with the selector knob. Overall a great second hand buy if you can get one, and would sound better than amps costing much more.

Strength:

Very good value for money

Weakness:

RCA plugs facing upward

This amp has been with me for over 14 years and still working except for some trouble with the input selector. Since then I have upgraded many times and couldn't find any amp sounded more friendly(not too warm, not too bright) than the Cyrus 1, and my current amp is a Krell 300iL. However, I going to ditch the Krell and stick with my old friend.

Strength:

Uncluttered style - volume control and source selector only. Delivers source signal as the artist intended.

Weakness:

Positioning of I/O sockets can be frustrating, but once in situ not a serious problem.

Bought new around 91/92 and still going strong. Sonics remain clear at all levels and across all ranges. Seems happiest with analogue sources, some CDs can be a bit sharp. Compared with more expensive systems this works well for me - from Verve to Vivaldi.

Strength:

Good value for money, Musicallity

Weakness:

Grey finishing gets weary after some years, Connections for line input are getting bad after some time (model 1989)

If have used my Cyrus One for over 10 years now and I'm still satisfied with its performance. A few years ago me and my nephew planned to switch amps (Cyrus 2 + PSX) for two weeks but after one week I wanted my One back. Altough the 2 + PSX had a more powerfull bass and more detail, the sound was BORING!

Two years ago I compared it with a Densen Beat B100. This amp had the same qualities and just a bit more, but for me it wasnt enough to replace it for my Cyrus.

It's just a nice amplifier to listen to and to look at!

Strength:

transparancy, power given the only 2x 30 Watt, overall musical, keeps strength at high volumes, good value for money

Weakness:

very sensitive for cabling, needs high rendement speakers for easy performance, speaker connections, sensitive for dust due to open cover

I have used this amplifier for a very long time, and till today I have not listened to another $500 amplifier with that performance.

Altough the amp is sensitive for cabling and speakers, it is an easy performer. The overmeasured power unit gives the amp gives the amp its easy drive both at normal listening volume and at high volumes.

The amp does not care what kind of music is playing, hard rock, Pink Floyd and classical music are all performed well.

Most ironical is that nobody seems to understand that the grey shoebox is my amp. Everyone who sees my set always turns the tuning knob at my tuner when adjusting the volume.

This is exactly the character: anonymously, but when listening the amp shows!
