These NT series amplifiers by Lexicon are stunning. Sound reproduction is excellent, including every detail. When the amplifiers are opened up, you can see why they cost so much, and also, why they are SOOOO good. The amplifier I am talking about costs $2400 and is for 3 channels. Inside, it has massive heat sinks, and sure enough, 3 different high-quality amps, completely seperated from each other, and on different circuits. Just one output on this amp, was able to drive 2 Snell Sub 550's perfectly. The subs actually sounded better than comparable subs running a 350 watt amp!! Overall, these NT amps are absolutely stunning, and should be a part of any serious audiophile's hometheater system. And, paired with the Lexicion DC-1 preamp, they sound EVEN better... 5 stars...Bravo. |

The Lexicon is a very nice amp. It has decent power, is very accurate, and has clean bass. However the reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is simply this, it doesn't have the power necessary to drive inefficent loudspeakers such as my review sample (Aerial Model 7B). A better option would be the Sunfire amp granted it has only 2 channels oppose to 3 but the power is there. |
