Strength:
Crystal clear highs, nice tight base, ample reserve power
Weakness:
none that I have found so far The MM9000 5 channel amp is an excellent sounding 5 channel amp. I demoed the MA700's which are 200 watts per channel compared to the MM9000 which is 150 watts per channel x 5 and they are fairly close in sound and performance given the mono blocks the edge in this case because they are individual channels with their own power supplies but overall this is an excellent performer in home theater and 2 channel stereo. I have it matched with the AV9000 pre amp which is also an excellent performer and you would be hard pressed to find better matched performance than these two at this price. I am sorry the repost. I when to radio shack and got a RF Choker to place on the interconnects and the powercord and the interference has stopped completly. All for a grand total of $7.00. |

Strength:
Tons of Power, Great warm sound
Weakness:
I am picking up a radio frequnecy when I turn the input levels up to THX reference level. (Power supply, Too close to Radio Tower?) I got this amp with the 560 preamp and all of the monster interconnects for 1600. This thing sounds awesome and effortlessly pushes all of the speakers. I do pick up a radio frequency when the inputs levels (on the back of the amp) are turned up t THX ref. levels. Could this be my power supply? But whent he Levels are turned to just below THX ref level the noise is gone and everything is just perfect. I love this system and would recommend it to any one who is looking for a awesome low-mid High end HT System. I tested the Rotel and the Sunfire stuff prior to this but found the Rotel to be too bright (forward) and the sunfire was too expensive, I caould not justify the cost to performance ratio especiall when I got my setup for half as much as the Sunfire amp alone. none This is a double post, sorry. I had to thank everyone who emailed me to let me know about how to fix my connection problem. I recived several emails telling me to use a drill with a small drill bit and drill a small hole into the caps in the binding posts and them pull them out. It worked perfectly. I wasn't aware that marantz and other company's do this because of a safety concern, but if you have them pluged into the back hole then there is no concern. Thanks to everybody that helped make this a five star amp all the way around. |
