Zero. I mean, even the packaging is good, although it is quite the bi##h to store the big box!!!! Lol!!! Its been a long time since anyone posted on this product, obviously due to it being several years on the market now. I have read with some amusement the negative reviews some have posted here of the ML333. It can be due to three things:
Customer Service HFX system in South Africa import Levinson, B&W, kimber etc, they are fantastic, regard you as friend. I’ve been listening to stuff for years at their place, never any impatience, and now they reap the rewards. Thanks Eugene and Jacques!! Similar Products Used: Products tested:

1. Black depth is fantastic
Weakness:
Zero. I mean, even the packaging is good, although storing such a big box is a b..ch. lol Its been a long time since anyone posted on this particular product, obviously due to it being an older product. I also read with some amusement the poor ratings that some give this amp, usually baseless comments made by individuals who most probably are of the new 'HT generation'. These people typically wants something 'impressive' sounding. Its a shame. In some cases the setup of the sound system might have been poor, i.e. using single ended interconnects or poor speaker cables. These can make a huge difference, and a lot of my review is based on this.
Customer Service Fantastic. HFX systems in South Africa regard you as a friend and will always help (IF it breaks, if has never broken.) Similar Products Used: ML431, 336, 436, Bryston 9B, Krell 300 Balanced, Classe 2200. |

Strength:
Saving your electrical bills because I most ready to shut the unit down.
Weakness:
Sounds Awful, watch your back on the weight of this unit First impression last after hearing those people from "Audiophile environment" describing how good the Mark Levinson 333 can sounds. For the first time hearing, it produce good sound stage and bass but later tends to get real fatigue with it and worst coming in wanting to get out of the shop as soon as possible. If you understands the component fitted into this unit, is definitely has been over rated. Sorry but this unit....many people are selling off now. |

Extended High's Extended Bass Full Body Midrange
Weakness:
None This is a review of the updated 333 which becomes the 333.5. The update was done by the manufacture. I owned the 333 since 1998, I was going to sell it until a friend of mine told me about the upgraded 333 that he had heard. I decided to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. It took only a song to hear the improvment in all areas. To keep it short, a midrange to die for, bass improved night and day and the highs are extended and more sweeter. Micro dynamics and dynamics are as good as any amp I have heard, but the vocals are what really stand out now. So real that you can touch them, full body yet very transparent. Highs are so smooth and extended, that my Confidence 5 speakers are sound very bit as good as the new Confidence line. If you own the 333 by all means consider getting the upgrade, it will be worth your down time and money to do so. It is a major improvement to a good amp, that is now world class. Strength:
Great and accurate soundstage, highly musical. Quality of mids, highs and lows are superbly reproduced.
Weakness:
Costly, heavy. I cannot understand why some reviewers give this amp poor score. When I first hooked this amp up to drive my ATC SCM 50, my wife even from the far corner of the house commented that everything sounded much better. (Incidently, she is a qualified piano teacher and had a good sense of pitch). I must say that the Aragon 8008BB that I was using before the switch is really not a slouch. But the Mark Levinson 333 is really many times better. The sound stage, timber, tonation and music throughout the various frequencies all sounded much better and more accurate. I suspect some of the reviewers may not be maximising the amp's potential by using RCA rather than balanced connection. Similar Products Used: Krell KSA 300, Aragon 8008BB, Aragon 4004, Mark 23.5 |

Strength:
Sonic and build quality
Weakness:
can not switch between XLR and single ended. You got what you paid for. I slowly upgrade my system from Yamaha receiver to dedicated amps (carver, adcom, outlaw, krell, proceed and then this one). It has very good bass control and very clean high. It has more dynamic than any other amps that I have owned. For a used one I paid $4000 and I am very happy. It is worth it and I agree with class A recommendation from stereophile. For $4000 (used), there are very few that can compete with this amp. I brought home classe 300, Krell KAV1500, Bryston 7B but they are not in the same class. Similar Products Used: Bryston &B, Krell KAV1500, Carver, Adcom and Outlaw |
