Only buy this amplifier if you want it for the looks only. It sounds terrible! It sounds almost sythetic in it's timbre, the highs seem thin and I am afraid the bass is bettered by amplifiers one sixth the price.Sure the power supply is engineered extremely well, the amplifier can drive current through a nail at it's termanals, but whats the use if it sounds so rotten. |

Strength:
None
Weakness:
All the weaknesses with poor circuit design amplifier. Value of amplifier = price of 333 divided by 4 or 5 I have repeated auditoned to the 333 and every time I shake my head. Reason? It sounds damned poor. They are not musical, performs poor at the extreme and the mid-range is coarse. We had people who opened the amp. and mapped out the circuit map and found out that not only the design is outdated, the parts are of poor quality and the price simply does not justify either the quality or the sound. I feel very sad for Mark Levinson, Krell, Wadia and so on. One after the other switch to the AV products. I also heard that Wadia has sold their stakes to investors, possibly from Japan. How sad! Spectral has produced a remote controlled pre-amplifier. Ounh! Similar Products Used: Nelson Pass 1 |

Strength:
Bass, control, natural sounding
Weakness:
Relaibility.... I am quite happy with the sound of this amplifier, just it has been broke down many times and it is very troublesome to bring it service. I wounder is there are any high quality parts used in the amp or not. Similar Products Used: Rowland model 10/12 |
