Strength:
What a great amp. Was using two in bridged mode but was overkill for my Ruark speakers. 100w in to 8 ohms was enough. However these also seem to drive my Martin Logan Scenario speakers without difficulty despite the 1.7 ohm load around 20khz in monoblocks mode. Been great with the xp100 pre amp, sounds detailed and open, especially with good cables. Wide soundstage and not at all grainy. The separate psu is a bonus and worth siting well away from the amp on an isolated surface. It's well made and looks high quality. Best amp I have had and competes with more expensive options. The stereo or mono options are useful. Weakness:
Not much at the price. Bought mine second hand on ebay and despite being over 20 years old sounds great. The psu must not be close to the amp to avoid buzz and should be isolated as can vibrate at 100hz somewhat but not audible if suited well. Sensitive to cable selection. Price Paid: 320

Strength:
Deep soundstage, liquid treble and punchy bass!
Weakness:
Too cheap to be considered by some audiophiles This is one heck of an amp. Hook this up with a good preamp and it will do wonders. Try Transparent Audio with it this will bring out the best of this amp. |
