Strength:

Individual channel level control!

Weakness:

Slight hum when there is no source component powered on...disappears when a source is powered up, though.

I bought the NAD amp as a temporary solution to a lack of power in my system, and was planning to upgrade shortly thereafter. However, after hearing the NAD on my Klipsch Reference series loudspeakers I realized that this amp is nothing to sneeze at! The power and punch is spectacular, for the price, it simply cannot be beat. I have never heard it distort in any way, and the amp handles everything I throw at it, from the blunt sounds of rock to detailed jazz steel guitar. Spectacular!

Strength:

Clean, smooth and Powerful

Weakness:

Have to get it repaired and can't find a reliable shop.

Great amp. I first bought it while in High School for my "DJ" business. I pounded on this amp for four years. It was thrown around in a car, ran for three hours at 90%, then tossed back into a car often sitting overnight at temperatures below 20 F.

It's over ten years old and sounds great.

Strength:

Warmth and Power

Weakness:

None

I had a Carver 200 WPC and a Hafler DH500 rated at 255 WPC into 8 ohms. The Carver was very "Tinny" sounding with no bottom end warmth. The Hafler was a very good sounding amp that was built like a brick #### house. However, The 2600A sounded 10 times better than the Carver and Every bit as good and loud as the Hafler Beast! I was amazed. My speakers impeadance typically dips below 4 ohms and the NAD has no problem driving them. The amp does get fairly warm after hours of jamming. I have added a DC boxer fan for cooling purposes. I am so impressed with this amp I went out and bought another one. I am running them bridged into 4 ohms and they continue to work great!

Strength:

incredible bass control (used as a subwoofer amp)

Weakness:

one channel is gone, so i can't even begin to evaluate it in stereo

this amp is one hell of a great subwoofer amp.
mine has a blown channel, which is why i got it so cheap. i simply removed the down channel and use the still-working one to power my custom built Peerless 10" isobaric sub (-3dB at 25Hz, im proud to say). i've abused this amp so many times in my rig, mixing techno/rave stuff (read; INTENSE DEEP BASS), as well as home theatre stuff (the haunting is the only thing that caused a problem- i thought the amp clipped, but it had overdriven the sub's drivers beyond their excursion limit!)and still, even with this kind of abuse, both sub and amp keep going.
i would love to find another one (with both channels working!!!) to drive my Dahlquist DQ-10s in my music only system. any sellers out there?
if you find one out there that looks like a great deal, grab it. you will not be sorry!

I have never tried an amp powerful as this.
Look at the Denon PMA-1315R.

Strength:

Awesome limitless power; drives without a shread of a doubt twin-18" PA bass horn to consert levels.

Weakness:

Connections are cheap; non-goldplated and really weak speaker bindings. Use of bananas absolutely a must.

I intend to use this one as a sub amplifier only. I can´t really tell if it is good or not in the upper part of the spectrum; I´ve only listened a few hours to it in that state. (What I heard sounded really good)
It´s awesome power capabilities drives any speaker, no matter the impedance curve. It´s a shame that NAD gave up the Power Envelope circuit. Maybe it has downside effects on sound quality, what do I know? It sure provides for balanced sound even if you have speakers that are hard for your amplifier.
For a mere $160 used, this was a bargain of all times.
