When I first received this amplifier, after breaking it in for a couple of weeks and with some small speakers (Infinity SM85), I was pretty impressed. Now that it's been running for a few months (and in quite a variety of situtations - I've used it at parties) and I have some bigger speakers hooked up (JBL S312 and Infinity RS-5) I'm extremely impressed. Few days go by without me playing a new piece of music through this amp and it blows me away. It has no trouble dealing out deep bass with rich high end at the same time - in fact, nothing I play seems to compromise any one part of sound for the other, like most other amplifiers I've had my hands on. It deserves no compromise on anything else in your system - so far I've never hooked anything up to it that left the amplifier being the piece that holds the system back.
It seems to me that this would make not only a great amplifier for listening to music but would be great for powering the front two channels of a home theatre setup too. Playing "Music For a Darkened Theatre" by Danny Elfman on loud yielded the most impressive cinematic music I've heard, in or out of a theatre. Loud or soft, all details come through and with quite a bit of finesse.
Well, if you haven't understood what I'm saying by now, then I summarise by saying: this is a great amplifier. I don't own any $5000 amplifiers but I've used some and the Stratos doesn't lack anything compared to these as far as I can tell. I can't really thing of anything that would improve my experience with this piece of equipment.

    Here's what I have:
MAudio SuperDAC 2496, hooked with balanced cables to
Mackie 1202VLZ, for volume control, hooked with balanced cables to
Odyssey Stratos with capacitor upgrade, hooked with Groneberg Quattro cables to
    JBL S312 speakers
    Total cost: About $2400

    I couldn't be happier!
