Strength:

colors, space, and not last: an exceptional design - shame about those towers, because I liked the original name!

Weakness:

speed? Not really if paired well, you can get superb results
the rating is due to its limited use, but who plans to do a misuse anyway?

This is a very convincing device, if you use it within its recommended areas, these are speakers above 4 Ohm with not to bad efficiency. I have had superb results with Stella Opus speakers, nominally 89db and 6 Ohm..but also with (surprise) Mangers 109
Compared to a C-J Premier 17/11 combo, this does not fail, even though it has a little less punch, the colors are all there, and how!
And a Krell 300iL, I am sorry, as much as I like the usability of that amp, it does not compare at all, except in speed: The Pathos is not the fastest amplifier, but I only notice this now, after I have changed to a Berning ZH 270, which is probably without par.
Please do not underestimate this seriously wonderful amp, but pair it well!

Strength:

Clean sounding and great bass impact. Almost at level as my Audio Research VT-150SE.

Weakness:

Lack of resolution, air and timbre. Short decay of tones.
Doesn't get my into the musical event.

Now I have had this amplifier för 3,5 years and must admit that I don't like it very much. It takes three hours of playing to get a sound that I can enjoy.
Yes, the sound changes very much during warm up, and you really need to play it to get the electrolytic caps that are in series with the output to start releasing some kind of good sound. Just letting the amplifier stand on without playing will not help very much. From start it really sound horrible. Cold etchy and with no soundstage at all. Soundstage is lacking. It's hard to hear the musical event comparing to my other amps. Decay of tones are short and clinical.
I have tried with tube rolling and ended up with Mullard M8137 which sounded slightly better than the original 12AX7 LPS that are standard.
12AX7 LPS actually was one of the better tube that I tried and in this amplifier it beats the famous Telefunken ECC803S.
But even after a day of listening and continuos playing this amplifier will not be very good. Good and acceptable, but I'm not satisfied when so much better sound can be had for the money. And the warmup time are a real pain.
So this amplifier have been serving as amplifier for my TV system for the last years.

Don't remember all amplifiers that have passed here.
Currently using ARC LS12, Ref One and VT-150SE (Oceans of better sound than Pathos TT)

Strength:

Sweet highs, neutral but palpable mid-range (sound like SE mid-range), solid-state low's. A joy to look at and show off to friends.

Weakness:

Volume settings are not memorized after every power-off. It is reset back to zero.

Pathos TT is one of the best amplifiers that I've heard. I've heard many different amplifiers in my last 30 years as an audiophile, however, this one is one sweet hybrid amplifier. It has everything that you can ask for, sweet extended highs, focus and neutral mid-range with no hashness anywhere in the highs or mids. The bass is also superb. I had solid state amps, triode amps, SE amps, this one is the best so far without any weaknesses. Also, since it uses only two 12AX7 tubes, retubing is also extremely cheap. Playing around with these tubes are very important to get the best out of the TT. I settled on a pair of 1960's Sylvania's which are unbelievable.

Strength:

Purity of tone, transparency, frequency response, imaging. Does all the hi-fi things well, and plays music beautifully.

Weakness:

Tough to ship ! I had one damaged and had to get settlement, then the second one I found had justa tony bit of shipping damage, thankfully really just cosmetic.

Truly a work of beauty, visually and audibly ! An incredible smoothness, sharp image within soundstage, great musicality top to bottom. Really excels in clarity and purity of tone. Experimentation with different tubes and power cords has been very fruitful ! TG Audio SLVR brought out the best for cords, and I'm still playing with tubes. Have tried NOS Mullard and Sylvania 12AX7's (Sylvania edges out), also tried Sovtek 5751's, they closed the soundstage in a bit, but within that stage, images are even MORE focused ! Now waiting on a pair of NOS JAN 5751's, should be VERY musical !! This amp does it all: hi-fi aspects are all met in spades, and music shines through extremely well. LOVE female voice on this amp ! FYI, related equipment: EVS Modified Sony NS500V & Philips SACD-1000 as digital front end; Music Hall MMF-5 to Gram Amp SE phono pre as analog front end; VMPS 626 Ribbons; ZCable Love v4 interconnects; ZuCable IBIS speaker; TG, Eichmann, and Shunyata power cords; Audio Resolution platforms (like Symposium); PS Audio Power Plant; Aural Thrills TT isolation box. Misc. footers, room tunes....

Strength:

Transparency, focus, midrange, treble and of course DESIGN !!

Weakness:

Need easy drive loudspeakers

The Pathos Twin Towers is almost too good, too innovative, to classy to be true. It sounds rich and sweet without harmonic coloration. In all situations the Pathos sounds full bodied and with superb clarity. Listen the Pathos Twin Towers is always a pleasure.

Excellent! The twin towers is excellent! Tubes for gain in voltage and transistors for the gain in current: perfect! The sound is REALLY nice. All in pure class A... A few more Watts would be welcome (cf InPower).
