This amp is one of my truly powerful amps. Solid state 250 watts per channel. Clean, undistorted sound. It is one of Nelson Pass's excellent design.

I recently got the Pioneer bug all over again I purchased a Pioneer SA-9100 amp from a friend of mine while l had shipped my Bryston B6 amps in for a cleaning and a going over because l had owned themfor about 15 years while they were away I purchased this pioneer amp and I'm telling you the sound is unbelievable.I had no idea the sound that came out of my speakers it was fresh and not brassy or harsh sometimes what l had thought once in a while listening to my Brystons,Don't get wrong I like my brystons but now l have a new found love for this Pioneer SA-9100 amp you can do some much to change the sound the trebile and the bass you can hear the breath its almost like seeing the hairs one a leaf on a crystal clear plasma display.Unbelievable imaging and stage presence you can close your eyes turn your back and you would think the band is in your living room,well l have to go my wife calling in closing since l have gotten my Brystons back with a clean bill of health for another 20 years they are now book ends for now. If they remade these pioneer amps again the exact same way as back in 73 or 74 sign me up.I also sent them in for a good cleaning changed some capasitors and everything that either dries up or it's a little old it cost about 300 an amp did it one at a tmie that l would not be without and they came back even sounding a little better (just because of the tune-up) and one word describes it the best AWSOME TOTALLY AWSOME. of all the different amp either Bryston,McIntosh,Old Marantz,Old Yamaha and even JBL in my opinion if you try one of these old Pioneer amps I guarentee you will be totally impressedlike l said AWSOME

Great amp from the late 60's thru the 70's. Pioneer rated the amp at 60 watts per channel but it put out much more. This amp is still going strong after 35 years. It has great tone balance and can really push out the high end and low end with no problems. Has been a great mate to my JBL L100A Century speakers and EPI 100 back up pair. I am sorry to say I will be retiring it to a back room to make room for a new a/v receiver.
