Things started out badly when I bought this amp. I picked it up used, and it arrived broken. I called the folks at Rogue, and they offered to fix it for free. They couldn't have been nicer.

It turned out that it the unit had had some components improperly installed, and the folks at Rogue had to do quite a bit of rebuilding. They basically gave me a new amp -- gratis. They were some of the nicest people in high-end audio I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

This is a wonderful amplifier. Mine is set in pure triode mode, at 35 wpc, but my room is small, so that's plenty of power. The Rogue 88 outshines amps at twice the price. It is warm, open, and accessible. Crisp highs, very straightforward mids, and ample bass. I haven't found an amp that sells for less than $4000 that is as musical or as honest -- the music sounds like it "belongs" in the room. It reproduces music sweetly, cleanly, and honestly.

I listen to rock, jazz, and bluegrass, mostly live music on DAT, and this amp handles whatever I throw at it -- Widespread Panic, Monk, Bill Evans, Bela Fleck, Ornette Coleman, you name it, this amp sings.

This is a beautiful component.

Great soundstage and very warm sound!

I am using this amp in conjunction with their 66 preamp. The rest of my system consists of a YBA cd player with Soundlab Dynastat Speakers. This amp is everything i ever wanted in an amp except dynamics are a little shy in my system. Other than that it sounds better than any other amp i've ever had including Krell, YBA, Bryston, Aragon, NAD and others. This amp has a realism and 3d holographic imaging that others do not and what a soundstage, full yet believable. It is also very warm sounding, lush but not at the expense of detail. A great value for the money. I have tried the monoblocks and they are audio nirvana and my next upgrade. I have also had great service from Mark O'brien when my pre-amp gave out. Great amp and great company!

Cant be beat at its price and you wiil spend as much as 5k and wont better it.Its a lot of amp for the money.

This is a very warm and evolving amp.lets you in to the music.Everything is in its place and all instruments sing in their true colors.The unit has two settings one 70 WPC in ultralinear mode and triode mode 35 WPC.I listen in triode very nice tube sound no grain very tight controlled bass silky mids and highs.Needs about 10/15 to warm up and gets better and better as you play it.I can put a cd on and then listen to it again an hour latter and it sounds even better.Great dynamics and very refined.I have heard many amps and could not belive the price of this based on the sound.The support at the factory is fantastic.Mark O'Brien the owner answers all the emails and fast.Stock tubes are good but a new set of Svetlana KT-88 or 6550C and it gets even better.If you can find them EI KT-90 are special in this amp.The EI factory was blown up during the US bombing of Yugoslavia.I am sure they were a real threat.A shame they truly made a great tube.This amp can be had used 1000/1100 range.Best and possibly last amp upgrade you will make.

This is a great sounding unit.Air around the instruments,depth,width,soundstage monster.its the best amp i have heard under 4000.00/5000.00.Its worth every penny.Try some EI KT-90 tubes.they are hard to get but worth every penny.Big improvment over Stock Sovtek KT-88.
