I recently purchased a used RMB-1095. I upgraded from a 120wpc Rotel 980BX. The quality of this amp is outstanding. The build qualify is excellent and the sound is also outstanding. This amp drives my 5.1 polk RTi speaks with no issues. The RTi 10s tend to beg for mercy at louder volumes though. So far no compliants. The only draw back is that its only 5 channels. You would have to get a separate amp if you wanted 7.1. I was debating between this amp and the Anthem, but the Rotels are a bit easier on the wallet.

THE THING IS A BEAST END OF STORY PUT SOME BLACK LABEL SOCIETY IN AND TURN IT UP AND YOU WILL BE HAMMERED BY THE SHEAR SONIC IMPACT THAT THE RMB-1095 PRODUCES,IT HAS ONLY ONE SHORT FALL THAT I CAN TELL,THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD MAKE THIS THING BETTER WOULD BE 500 WATTS A CHANNEL @ 8 OHMS TOTAL BLOWS AWAY ALL MY OTHER AMPS AND HAVE BEEN A DEDICATED CINEPRO AMP OWNER FOR YEARS THIS IS MY NEW THOROUGHBRED NOW.

Strength:

low frequency sound, like bass and punch, good value for money, great price.

Weakness:

Natural sound, too bright will get ear fatique, mid is also too loud as compared to the low and high , the balance is lost.

I would rather go for Denon or Yamaha instead of Rotel for the same price.

Always wished to listen this rotel 200 watts at 8 ohms amp, price was its great attraction and value for money, I bought krell FPB-200 in the year 2004 (Used one for $3800) as many of my friend recommended me. I was disappoinded by the price i spent for krell as i could have bought a new rotel for much cheaper. Today october 2008 I manage to listen Rotel 1095 as it went through an add. I was in search for an amp for my friend who bought B&W 683 as I advised him to buy. We first listened it on Krell 200watts at my place, then we managed to play it on Rotel, the sound sucks, rotel showed lack of natural sound, all the listen pleasure and sweetness was gone, my ears started hurting and I lost the listenening tolerance after 2 tracks.

Strength:

clean powerful sound.heavy.yes heavy is a plus in amps!i lik the rear casters.

Weakness:

does get rather warm

I bought this because it was in my price range and it is a verygood amp.low floor noise.conveys a great clean sound.the amp put out 210wts all 5 channels diven when i had it tested.with the front 2 channels driven only you can xpect around 250wts a channel.it is great in the bottom endand through the rest of the spectrum.my only compliant is when driving it hard it does get warm and has shut down on me.but i was really driving it in its defense.i have not heard anyone else have this problem with this amp but me it seems.i do like to to play my music loud wen the girlfriend is out:)probably louder than most.i still plan on getting a more powerful amp but this would do a great job for most people.

Possibly, size or weight

I've had this amp since early 2001. I enjoy it as much now as when it was new. It's performed flawlessly since day one.

Since I bought it I upgraded from a Pioneer Elite receiver (which is a sweet sounding piece of gear) to a Rotel (1066) pre-amp; from Paradigm LCR-350 to Paradigm Studio 100v2 speakers; and from a Sony CD player to Rotel.

When new, the amp sounded clean and sweet. It can bring subtlety and it can bring horsepower. It let me hear the improvement with each upgrade of other pieces. It impressed me enough that I went to Rotel for my pre-amp and my CD player, and I'm completely pleased with both. They've also worked perfectly for years.

Some of the mega dollar amps may sound better, I don't know. I like this amp enough that I'm not even curious. For people who have to pay some attention to their budget or who want sensible gear, I think you'd be hard pressed to top Rotel.

It is heavy, but has casters underneath to aid positioning. It came double boxed. It's tall enough that you may have to improvise and adapt to find a place for it (I put mine on top of my sub, where it also gets plenty of air).

Strength:

Unending barrel of electrical current. Awesome power. As musical or sonically transparent as any amplifier in the market regardless of price.

Weakness:

Aside from tipping the scales at 75 lbs absolutely none.

Some of the descriptors used by audiophiles to describe amplifiers are laughable and just inane. An amplifiers job is simply to amplify.. the measure of its excellence is how much "amplification" it offers to the audio signal without affecting the original input signal, thus, spaciousness, constraint, openness and other qualifiers are bunk. The RMB 1095 offers immense power to drive any speaker load at any frequency without adding any distortion or noise under any condition. Therefore, its execution is flawless and as open (or other blah blahs) as any other amplifiers that shares its capabilities (krell, klasse, mcintosh, bryston) might offer. Its simply flawless. What makes it brilliant is that it offers that level of performance for half the price of those rarefied brands.
I bought the RMB 1095 after finding that rotel's 1067 receiver was inadequate to drive my new B&W XT surround system. The RMB drives the five speakers (2 XT4's; 2 XT2 and 1 XTC) to prodigous sound levels without even getting warm and without any distortion or additional noise. The sound is breathtaking. The Xt4's are notoriously inefficient and a very difficult drive at loud levels. The RMB drives them with utter ease.
In summary, the RMB1095 offers the markets very highest amplification and sonic standards for a price that is slightly higher than mainstream audio. There is absoulutely no rational need to spend a single cent more in any other "audiophile" amplifier except to snob nose with your buddies.

Strength:

Smooth, Clean Power!! Great looking. Brings out lower freq. Build quility is good.

Weakness:

Heavy, but manageable. Cheap looking power cord.

I Purchased this amplifier to power my Paradigm Studio 100's, CC570, and ADP 470 rears and use my Denon 3805 as a processor. With the Denon, the sound was bright for my taste and I felt the 100's needed more power to bring out the lower frequencies. I did A and B comparisons with an Anthem A5 and felt the Rotel RMB 1095 brought out a wider soundstage. The Anthem sounded great, with exceptional detail and clarity, but with the Rotel amp, I felt the Studios have now gotten that missing engredient. The overall sound was more rounded and the bass was more significant than with the Anthem. The sound is very smooth and not in your face. I was set on getting the Anthem without trying out the Rotel and I'm glad I didn't because I ended up saving about $800.00 by purchasing the 1095! Overall the Rotel RMB 1095 is a great amplifier, you won't be dissatisfied.

Strength:

Everything, Everything

Weakness:

Huge 75lbs and is tall 9 3/8's to be exact so you might have to adjust your rack.

WOW, WOW, and Wow is all I have to say!!! I run this with the Klipsch RF-7's and unbeleivable it's incredible. I had a Marantz sr8500 receiver doing everything, now it's my pre-amp. What a difference it's night and day. This thing is a beast unbeleivable how great it sounds. I though my Marantz 8500 sounded good until I hooked this baby up along with, it's amazing.

An earlier review said the Rotel 1095 lacks imaging and possess a diminished soundstage. Compared to what? The Rotel is $1999 (suggested retail) and the Krell and Classe used as comparison cost more than twice that of the Rotel. Pound for Pound, the Rotel is one of the best or best amplifier out there. I have Def Tech BP2002TL and the imaging is pinpoint sharp. The soundstage is huge. It extends upward and outward between the two speakers. The distance between Rotel and these other amps is not as wide as some people would have you think.
