This Amps really rocks. It could handle any speaker with ease. Before i bought this amps, i had the chance to connect it to a Magnepan 2.7 and it sounded very good. Considering the sensitivity of the Magnepan, this amp sure did a good job. I'm now using it to power my Thiel 2.2 Simpky wonderful sound, probably better than the Aragon 8008. |

I use my system primarily for home theatre. I have two sunfires driving four Mirage M1s. This configuration is dynamite for reproducing demanding bass in movies. I have measured 115db from movies like Independence Day. I went through three other amps before settling on the Sunfire for my application. |

I bought a pair of this amps to drive my Infinity Kappa 9.2i and i am quite satisfied by the result. With this pair of amps wired as what Sunfires calls bi-wired mono connection, i feel this could drive any speaker in the world with ease. I feel this amp sounded warm and powerful, seems like there is no limit with its range. I haven't had the chance to have direct comparison with other amps though. Any input about its performance compared with similarly priced amps would be much appreciated. |

I bought this amp for $1200 used--steal of the century as far as I am concerned. No, you won't mistake it for a tube amp, but it comes closer than any other solid state amplifier I have ever heard--its midrange is absolutely sumptuous. I use this amp biwired with its current outputs to the tweeters and voltage outputs to the woofers. The sound at all times is completely effortless and clean. Female voice is simply ravishing--I have never heard Sarah McLachlan sound so real before. Margo Timmins sounds simply enchanting. This amp can kick ass too--it does equally well with Tool and the Chemical Brothers. In fact, it does all types of music justice. The Sunfire is the best solid state amplifier I have ever heard; I consider it superior to the Mark Levinson 333. The only better amps I have personally heard are the Cary CAD-805 and Cary SLM 200 (from that, you can tell what kind of sound I prefer). The Golden Tube SE-40 Special Edition is a really good piece too. But as for the Sunfire--Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! Now if only I can find a way to afford that Anthem CD1 tubed HDCD 6 CD changer . . . Associated eauipment: VAC tubed Vintage Line Amplifier, Carver MV5 CD changer with Musical Fidelity X-10D tubed buffer stage, Audioquest Quartz x3 interconnects, Audioquest Type 4 speaker cable (double biwire), Panamax 1000+ line conditioner, and Radio Shack RF stoppers placed on all power cords. |

This is a great amp but be real careful on what outputs you use. The soundwill change if you connect either the voltage and or current output to your |

I bought these for use with Legacy Audio Focus speakers. Others I had access tojust didn't do the job, even though the Focus' are 96db efficient. |

I did a side by side test between the Sunfire stereo amp and a Conrad Johnson MV55 Vacuum Tube Power Amp (45W). The comparison took about three hours. The rest of the system consists of a Conrad Johnson PV10A preamp, a pair of B&W CDM1 speakers, and a Sunfire True Subwoofer. The Sunfire, although has more power, lacks texture and soundstage depth compared to the Conrad Johnson amp. For example, when I listen to the CD: Doc Cheatham & Nicholas Paton, track 10; using the CJ, you can "hear" the lip movement coming from blowing the trumpet. The Sunfire only produce hissing air sound. On a different CD, an instrument that produces a dinnnnnnnnng sound on the CJ only shows up as dinnng on the Sunfire. Overall, the Conrad Johnson integrates better with the Sunfire True subwoofer also. The subwoofer just blends into the background of the CJ and expands the sound stage even further. Sorry tube fans, this does not prove tube sounds better than solid states, it just proves that at normal playing volume level, the CJ amp sounds better than a Sunfire. |

I had the opportunity to audition the Sunfire at home as part of my proposed set-up for a week. I found the amp very detailed with good image focus. Soundstage whilst not as deep was well spaced and well defined. |

sunfire was selected to drive difficult load (old english full ranges). it has sumptuous power, with articulate bass and very clean midrange. krell maybe a bit more polished, but not worth 4x the money! |
