Strength:

Detailed, precise sound.

Weakness:

No phono stage.

It's amazing what this amplifier is capable of. The amplifier has got big reserves, wich result in a very controlled low bass section. Music sounds sparkling and very lifelike. The v2 has got a tone defeat switch and specifies a 50 Watts RMS @ 8 Ohm. New users should warm this amplifier up for at least 4 hours, although the manual advises a 36 hours. After 36 hours the amplifier even sounds more dynamical!! Well worth trying. I give it 5 stars for value and 5 stars for over-all performance. Don't look at the spec's, just listen for yourself. It's the best amplifier i've heard so far.

Budget amplifier that knows how to rock but always with a gentle touch. This amplifier never offends or sounds aggressive, maybe it’s not the most powerful amplifier around but for this money I can’t think of any amp that equals it. I have compared it to NAD C340 and C350 and found both of them to sound aggressive and harsh. Build quality is excellent, controls operates smooth with a high quality feel, NADs bottoms and controls feels cheaper with a “plastic” touch. If you are looking for a new amplifier and have $4-500 to spend, try it!

This is one great amplifier! I have it connected to a Cambridge D300SE and Acoustic Energy speakers. It sounds very powerful with a smooth sonic character that never offends or sounds harsh. It has good balance between the tonal colors, not to soft neither harsh. I have the second version of this amplifier that has a little beefier output at 50watts/8ohm. Overall highly recommended.

Strength:

Great sounding, inexpensive amp

Weakness:

no remote

I haven't done any serious comparisons with other integrateds in this price range. I bought this based on online reviews of the A500 and an audition at Paradise Audio Video in San Jose. I was planning on getting the A500, but found out the A300 sounds almost exactly the same, so I saved some cash and got the A300. It looks nice, it's simple, it sounds great.

Mated with Axiom Audio M3Ti speakers... a wonderful sounding setup for $545 !!

No regrets.

Strength:

Great sound for the PRICE, Plenty of detail, Bi-wirable, Solid build.

Weakness:

Mids lack expression of more high end amps, Speaker terminals have no banana plug jack.

Setup:
A300 Amp
JVC XL-Z232 Cd player
KEF Cresta 2 Speakers
QED Qudos Bi-wire cable

This amp is in amongst a nice low cost setup, and does plenty of justice to it. It's a great little unit, very tidy, slim and unobstrusive yet still manages to sound almost too big for the room it's in. The KEF's are some of the loudest speakers available for their price and the A300 drives them very nicely.

High ends are packed with detail, and nothing is missed. Midrange is OK, no gripes, but the bass is handled very nicely. If you're into Rock, this amp's ideal. I do find that with some older punk or indie music (cheaply produced, loaded with distortion) the high end sounds can tend to get annoying with the ample high frequencies coming through. With smooth, bassy sounds; dub, acid jazz, chilled hip-hop, ambient etc. this amp is in its element. The Lows are warm and deep enough to break your ankle in.

Sweet for the price, and holds its own against many others even out of its price range.
