Strength:

power section

Weakness:

just cold, doasn't works at low-levels

i'm sorry, but this amp wasn't so good for me... everytime i was listening to it, i had the sensation that something was going wrong, that some detail of the music was going lost... It' a clear amp, with great power section, very good bass, but what about the feeling? If you are looking for a warm sound don't buy this nad... After a while a friend went to my home with an old luxman with a valve pre-section. Well, now i'm using the lux and selling the nad. Now there is less power, but i can listen to music at a low level hearing everything inside the record, and at any reasonable level i've got more impressive sound, more details, more music... nad is just too cold, while the old luxman is really more musical... My friend tried the nad in his house with many pairs of speackers and was of the same opinion... well... the old lux is not a perfect amp, but is really better of this nad

Strength:

Excellent power and sound with minimalist controls.

Weakness:

Reliability.

Having searched for a quality budget amp after my old Sony 3650 died, I got down to NAD, Denon and Yamaha - Harman-Kardon did not have a product at the time. I bought the C 350, despite hearing the remote was a problem. Collecting the amp gave me my first surprise - it was Made in China after I expected a British amp ! Took ot home and after just a week it ceased working. The relays controlling the feed to the speakers was locked out and no encourgement and frantic play the front panel or remote helped. Got a replacement amp which died after six months. Output stage cooked for no obvious reason. I have now had the third amp going for about 7 months. All is well presently, but I must admit to disappointment and some lurking fear for the next failure. When it works it is superb, driving a couple of little B&W 601 S2. The source is either the Karman-Kardon CD or cassette player (yes I know, I know). The remote is no bother but I have about 5 of them now. Also nuisance that the amp forgets previous source setting and returns to CD input. The NAD tuner I bought at the same time works well.

Strength:

Punchy Sound - very detailed. Bags of power in reserve.

Weakness:

External case too light. No phono stage. Poor remote.

This amp has significantly enhanced the sound from my set-up. The bass is warm and punch and the treble is clear without sounding brittle. It is a hifi cliche, but the amp genuinely revealed more detail in recordings than before. There is bags of power in reserve - I rarely run it above four and even at high output levels it still seems to have plenty of criticism. Only downsides are the lack of a phono stage, the remote which is only good if you have a NAD-only system, and the outer casing. On the latter it is made from a pressed steel which is simply too light for the weight of this unit. Would get a five if it wasnt for the poor build quality.

Strength:

Good all-around sound, plenty of power, plenty of inputs, smooth operation and controls, a decent remote is included.

Weakness:

Not the most "musical" or detailed in the world, and this is what differs it from amps that cost twice as much, but at this price level: none.

The NAD was simply the best amp I found at this level. It offers a simplistic design but with everything one would expect from an integrated. There are 5 line inputs and 2 outputs, in addition to 2 preamp outputs and a MAINS-IN input. The controls are clean and smooth and include tone controls (+defeat switch) and balance control. There's also a phones out that provides good amplification for headphones. As for the sound, it sounds just right. The lows can go deep and sound musical but are just fast enough to keep up the pace with any style of music. The mids are clear and detailed and the high frequencies are transparent and free from any sort of harshness, but perhaps they're not as detailed as on some other amps (that cost more). The soundstage is beautiful and three-dimensional. The amp changes the its load according to the speakers' impedence and so provides generous power for all speakers (4-8ohms). It has plenty of power to drive almost any speakers in almost any normally-sized room without any distortion. A remote is also included and works very well. It can also control CD and tape decks and a tuner as well but only if they're NAD so that's quite irritating, but other than that I have no complaint. In conclusion, I've reviewed 10 amps at this price and I clearly rate this as the best in terms of sound and value. You make your own math...

Strength:

legendary NAD sound at low cost probably more power than most will ever need

Weakness:

looks and external build quality no phono stage for vinyl fanatics could do without the remote

Auditioned this against Rega Brio and Bryston b-60...couldnt justify the extra cost...the NAD excels across the board...deep,clean, and very wide soundstage...detailed but not dry, sterile,or bright...very fluid and a touch warm...bass is tight and controlled...overall has a seductive "tube" like quality...very pleased...you would have to spend much more than Im willing to surpass it...and has tremendous power reserve even for difficult loads...

Strength:

Much more powerful than its specs suggest, smooth, airy and open sound, defeatable tone controls, lots of inputs, classic clean and businesslike NAD look

Weakness:

Volume control on remote needs a VERY light touch (a brief press will make the volume go up or down quite a bit); would be nice to have separate inputs for DVD, video (i.e., games or VCR) and TV.

Excellent amp for the money and don't let its conservative RMS rating fool you. Although my speakers are relatively efficient at 91 db/2.83 Mv, they draw a lot of current and I rarely turn the knob past "10" on the dial. Hint to other or future users: I use the "tone defeat" as a loudness control by turning the bass and treble all the way up, then only using the tone controls when I'm listening at very low levels. Otherwise I defeat the tone controls and listen to the amp's "pure" sound. I'm fairly conservative in my ratings, believing that 5's should be reserved for truly cream-of-the-crop products such as Blue Circle amps or Arcam FJ CD players or what have you. A solid "4" for both value and quality. Associated equipment: -California Audio Labs Icon Mk II CD player -KEF Q3 floorstanding loudspeakers -Silver Audio Silver Bullet 4.0 ICs -Homebrew biwire speaker cable with 99.99% pure silver for the top end and braided, stranded OFC for the low end

Strength:

unbelievable

Weakness:

many, but nothing serious and you will by no means get a better amplifier for this money...

How should we describe the sounds that we hear coming from our loudspeakers ? Giving attention to the high tones, bass and mids ? Do we hear any distortion, more or less detail, do we like the soundstage or the ´warmth´, is it analytical enough and will it get you emotional involved ? Should we - not able to give a good decription of the sound - concentrate on the placement of the buttons of the remote, the different colors of the front and the absence of a phono input ? etc etc etc. Having read many reviews and hearing the electronic devices afterwards, I must say that very seldom I was able to recognise anything of the reviews in the things I did hear. That is why I will not bother to try and describe this fantastic NAD c350 amplifier. Listening to it is a staggering experience after having the marantz PM7000 for a week. My Harman Kardon 655vxi had died some time ago, so I had to buy a new amplifier, and why not try the amplifier of the year (eisa)... Never trust these guys! Had to take it back to the dealer because in no way I was able to let it produce music. The NAD I have now, is the by far the best amplifier I had in my home. Full points NAD!!!

Strength:

Great value, sound, flexibility, internal build quality.

Weakness:

Volume control needs a light for use with the remote. External finish is typically NAD, which is ok with me, but I really think the cabinet should be less flimsy.

The NAD C350 is an quality integrated amp at this price point. Very conservatively rated at 60 watts, its very dynamic with a very smooth, clear sound with the music I listen to (rock, jazz, classical, blues). With the exception of lacking a phono stage, the amp is very flexible with the number of inputs available. I like the fact it has tone controls that operate in a reasonable manner, and that they can be defeated (in my case, I rarely use them, but they're very beneficial when listening to some source material that, for whatever reason, lacks the tonal balance I think it should have). From a dynamics standpoint, the C350 is exceptional, considering the load my speakers present to it. I have a pair of AR3a speakers that I purchased new in 1971. I like the sound of the AR3a's but they're rated at 4 ohms and quite inefficient at approximately 85db/w/m. Given that kind of load, the C350 delivers what I consider to be great sound and dynamics at moderately loud listening levels. If I needed to listen at very loud levels, especially to complex orchestral music, I would seriously consider the more powerful C370 (rated at 120 watts/8 ohms. That way I would have more headroom. But for me, the C350 works just fine. I should state that it took a good 2-3 weeks of use, listening daily for 1-2 hours, for the C350 to break in. At first the sound was slightly compressed sounding, but after a couple of weeks, it really improved. My system consists of an old Kenwood CD player, Dual CS355 turntable, Grado Red cartridge, AR3a speakers, homemade speaker and interconnect cables.

Strength:

Solid build, compatibilty, NAD's legendary sound and conservative power rating.

Weakness:

None

I feel no one can accurately translate sound into words. Ideal sound reproduction varies from each individual listener and can only be achieved through audition. Therefore, this review is short and strait to the point. Overall this is an exceptional amplifier and is one of, if not the best in its class. It should be high on any shortlist and deserves a listen.

Nad C350 amplifier Nad C541i CD Player Wharfedale 8.3 floorstanders QED Interconnects Van Den Hul Clearwater speaker cable. I'm impressed with this amp. I really done alot of reading before buying, and I feel that this is one of the best amps for its price range, if not, the best. What Hi-Fi magazine in the UK picked this amp over the Arcam A65 and the Marantz 6010Ki for overall sound quality. Even though this amp is good, I would like the Nad C370
