Strength:

lots of overhead, enough power to drive any regular room,
zero noise, tone control for those with crappy speakers

Weakness:

absoultely none..... (for the price blah blah blah)
the remote sucks.

I'm writing this review because my system started to sing today.
no, its not because its "broken in", its cause I replaced the stock interconnects with a decent pair from AR. Then everything changed, the sound got out of the speakers and into my ears. Cables do matter, spend all the money you have left on cables.

This is my first system after years of a litte 20 watt Japanese garbage box. Now, I can't get enough of music. Its like watching tv accept better.

I bought the c350 over the internet. there are lots of great deals so look around before you buy it.

The C350 is an amazing amp for 300 bucks. I can't exactly tell you the tonal quality of the amp since this is my first system (with a Nad C521 cd player ,and a pair of really old Harman Kardon bookshelve speakers (80's) that I want to replace) but I can tell ya, lots of power for a dorm room.
I normally turn it to the just a quater of the way to play it loud (nine o'clock position), and even less for regular listneing. So I've never reached the point where the amp looses its composure.
For all I know, it sounds amazing.
I guess this isn't really a hepful review but then again all audio equipment reviews seem to be hyper positive, especailly speakers.

I'm looking for a new pair of speakers to go with my wonderful nad system. If there any confident suggestions please please please e-mail me.
But don't e-mail with suggestions like DM 603 or Alpha A/V.

I want ot buy a pair of speakers thats a great match tonally for nad equipment (cables and interconnects also)
I live in Toronto so I'm look at Coincident triumph and PSB image 4t. What do you think of those choices, feel free to e-mail me. I'm looking forward to havinga great budget system for my dorm room!!!

The remote for both the amp and the cd player suck. But I really don't care.

Weakness:

none

Got a great deal on the unit as it was the last one in the store. Upon set-up I was not that impressed with the sound. Although it was noticeably cleaner than the 496, there seemed to be a weakness in the bass. After about two weeks of listened this problem kind of corrected itself.

The unit is built solidly. It is quite heavy for its size. All knobs and button are sturdy.

The NAD C350 brings out alot in the music. The sound produced is very clean. All the sounds of the mid-range are distinct and brought forward. Lead vocals and backing voices have a distinction about them as well as the instrumental melodies.

One small problem is that the amp is still weak with the bass at low to less than moderate listening levels (between 7 and 8 o'clock). But, once the dial passes 9 o'clock it really kicks in the lower end.

Used with
Yamaha CDC-775
Paradigm Monitor 7 v.1
Audioquest Topaz
Goertz Alpha-core HT bi-wired

Value a strong 5/5. Overall, 5/5 because it is a definite competitor to more expensive units.

Strength:

Mostly accurate tonality, good midrange, smooth, non-fatiguing, lots of depth, good bass down to mid-bass, lack of grain

Weakness:

Some sibilant splash, spongy bass with speakers that can produce undistorted low-mid bass, lack of dynamic range and detail compared to Class C separates, rounded off highs.

1. Use the tone controls. The tone control defeat button does no good, and a slight treble boost or cut may help.
2. Dont use the soft clipping. If you think you may need to use this feature, buy the C 370 instead. The amp sounds dull and spongy with the soft clipping engaged.
3. Don't expect miracles. This is a very good little integrated for use with similarly priced efficient speakers. It's a Stereophile Class C integrated, but it's in a different league from a Class C pre plus Class C amp. I bought one for a 3rd system, office, while working, and it's fine there. But I tried it out with the cdps and speakers in my other systems, and it just falls short of high fidelity to real music.
For the price it's great. Don't get me wrong. But don't think you'll get Class C sound. My second system, meridian 506 cdp, anthem pre2l and muse 100 driving Harbeth HL-P3 speakers, gives me accurate tonality plus 3-dimensional, palpable images with air around them. Substitute the C350 for the anthem and the muse and you lose the palpability and some of the detail. The C350 gives you great depth and spread, but the images are sort of 2 dimensional spread out on billboards. No holography. Maybe a taste, but not enough to satisfy.
Also, on Tracy Nelson's Move On album, the last track, piano solo on number 11, Playing it Safe, by a singer with unmatched dynamic range, driving the Harbeth P3's which are inefficent, the amp clipped. Even though these speakers are rated for amps from 25 to 50 watts and arent supposed to handle more than 50, I use a muse 100 with 100/200 at 8/4 ohm and 40 amps of current capability. The Harbeth P3's have more dynamic range than anyone really understands unless you give them a lot of current. The NAD C350 is inadequate. If you have inefficient speakers, get the C370 instead.
Rolled off top end and soft bottom.
I then hooked the C350 up between my meridian 508.24 ($3,995 list) and Harbeth Compact 7's ($2,500 list) and found it really spongy on the bottom, 2 dimensional and vague.
You get what you pay for.

4. I mentioned the Mission Cyrus One. I bought the NAD because I needed tone controls and balance, to use in an office where I sit to one side of one of the speakers (AE Aegis Ones). It does the job I expected. Perfectly suitable. But I have a 15 year old Mission Cyrus One that, although softer, more rolled off on top and bottom, produces 3-dimensional palpable images. I havent heard the current Cyrus gear, but if you have access to it, I would urge you to listen to it first, compare it before buying the NAD.

5. If this is your budget, buy the C350 and don't look back. It's a great little budget amp that's easy on our ears, can drive most economy speakers with ease and wont offend. The lack of grain in an amp at this price level is impressive. But, if you can afford to spend more and really want a taste of high end sound, look around, try separates, or try a tube or hybrid integrated like the Jolidas.

Strength:

Everything you could want in a budget-priced amp

Weakness:

At the price nothing

well, first thing you should know is that i am 15, my father got me into the hobby, once an avid computer addict, i found music to relax me. I know that somepeole out there will skip this over, saying because of my age, i know nothing about musical reproduction, well dont. The main system that i speak of is my fathers, because of my new found hobby (about 5 months now) i can tell you that the NADc350 is the best deal i have ever spent money on.

Now getting on to the amp. Talk about cheap, $400, its cheap. When i listen to this amp the first thing that hits me is the midrange, and boy is it like liquid. i swear it almost has a tube sound to it. anyways, all i really wanna say about this amp is that if you are looking to build a modest system, this amp could be your center piece, i thought when swithching from a cheap Radio Shack amp there wuold be little, if no difference between the two, was i ever wrong, highs were the only thing in this amp that i could complain about(a little rolled off on the top of the frequency range), its that good. In my opinion, just perfect for anyone looking to reproduce audio at a reasonable price

Casual Listener

Strength:

Clear sound, Strong Bass

Weakness:

Remote controller is to clumsy

I have purchased NAD C350 from the authorized dealer in Bamgkok the early of Dec 2000. I heard that NAD C340 is so popular and won many awards. So I decided to buy NAD C350 which provided 60W per channel and that is more than enough for my living room. I love to listen to misic and am just a casual listener. NAD C350 provides me what I need. It gives clear sound and strong bass. Since I just own it for a month I can only say that this integrated amplifier worth the money I paid for. I do hope that NAD will come up with good products at the modest prices like this in the future.

Strength:

Big,bold, controled sound, lot of dynamics.Presence of bass, mids and depth.Very adoptive to all kinds of music.

Weakness:

big,clamsy remote

This little amp.is improvement to NAD C340 in every way(big torodial transformer,55A peak power,135W dynamic power at 8 ohms, etc.)Very musical, enough details, good construction, high quality components, lot of conections at the back, very reliable at any kind of music and signal, working like a good swiss clock. Its very close to NAD C370(but less one third of the price).
My suggestion:
-do not use soft clipping for regular play(do it when you play very loud-at party time)
-replace jumpers beetwen pre-amp& with good interconectors(not longer than 50cm)or make the direct conection inside the NAD
My system(also recomedation for a good solid budget system)is:
-NAD C350
-California Audio Labs DX2/CD player
-B&W 603 S2(you have to biwire them!)
-Van Den Hul CS-122 H/speaker cables
-VDH Thunderline/interconectors

I rate this amp, five stars,as the best value for the money.

Strength:

Price,Outstanding performance from a intergrated amp.

Weakness:

Unknown

A short history. My (VSP Labs 150 watts per channel) 40 lb. amp died after many years of great service. I had it hooked up with my (now in storage) P.S. Audio IVHr pre amp and my Vintage (circa 1978-79) Thiel 03A's (former State of the Art) Large three way speakers. Due to my moving about the Country, small living space, lack of funds, etc. I never replaced the amp, opting instead to use a vintage Pioneer SX 737 and a small pair of Bookshelves. After almost three years in storage,I retrieved my Thiels and hooked them up to my NAD C350 (which I bought several months ago and using it with bookshelves speakers). All I can say is...WOW! I just never expected this $325.00 intergrated (60 watts per channel) amp to PERFORM this well! As many of you know, the Thiels are VERY revealing speakers requiring better electronics. I bought the C350 due to NAD's reputation, price and the many positive reviews (and because none of my other Receivers have "Main ins and outs" which is needed for the Thiels EQ box).
What can I say? The NAD C350 blew me away! The Thiels sound FANTASTIC and the C350 drives them to volumes that are VERY LOUD with ease. God,if the C350 is this good,I can only imagine how it's Big Brother (the 120 watt)C370 sounds!
The quality of the sound is very neutral, controlled, clear, clean, musical, etc. With such products as the NAD amps, I can no longer justify spending TEN TIMES the price on so call "High End" solid state amps for a perceived and/or little improvement. Unless you have unlimited money,do yourself a favor...buy the NAD. For the Audiophile on a budget...theres no contest! Buy the NAD and save your money for where it really counts...SPEAKERS! (and of course, music). Enjoy. Six Cats!
