The IA 1Z is an extremely HIGH END AUDIOPHILE value! It ranks up there with the best. I have owned KRELL, MERIDIAN and many other top notch amps and processors.The IA 1z has ample power and a clean sweet presence. Lots of detail and sound is reproduced imaculately. Music passages sound wonderful and audiophile like while movies sound like they were intended to do so. I like all of the features
(which are numerous) as well as the large number of input and outputs.
OPTIONS ARE WIDE OPEN with this piece. A GREAT SOUND STAGE AT A GREAT PRICE. IT sounds like something in the $4000.00+ range!

Strong build, beautiful looks, clean power

No tone controls (I'm new to this level of gear, is that common?), image just OK from analog sources.

This amp is solid, puts forth beautiful sound in Prologic mode; I'm still waiting for my digitial cable to arrive, and I have high hopes for digital reproduction. However, I'm not blown away with analog music reproduction; it's a step up from the old Sony, to be sure, but not what I expected from a component of this caliber. I am driving 8 ohms into 4 ohm speakers, so that probably has something to do with it. It's less than a week old, so I'll keep playing and tweaking, and probably post another review in a month or two.

Value rating is based on my price ($700 with the DTS upgrade, which is normally $600 alone, through Ubid.com).
