This review is for the yaqin eL34 mc10 tube amp, 52wx2, 220volts, older version. This is my first tube amp and I've learned some lessons. Let it warm up first, bias the tubes or at least check them. Blew a resistor my first time turning it on. Changed it but had no power....? Found a TV repair shop with an old timer who knew his stuff. paid $95.00 to have it checked and repaired. I only paid $255.00 on easy for this beautiful amp. Well got it home hooked it up to my nad CD player using nordost red dawn interconnects, b&w 705s with nordost super flat line cables and let me say that the sound was detailed, sound stage was deep, crisp and sweet. I'm very impressed with the quality and power of this amp. I couldn't hook up my sub but I've lost nothing because it pushes my b&w nicely. The beauty to it all is that the amp didn't have much use and my cables and speakers are new so I can only imagine what the end results going to be when it all gets broken in. tube amps are different from solid state and needs TLC, but the sound qualty its worth it. Happy listening.... |
