Strength:
Clear revealing sound, wide soundstage, on both music and movie, stereo by-pass or digital process.
Weakness:
So far none. I have used this pre-amp for 2 years now.So, I would think I have a good idea how it performed. My speaker set up is Paradigm Reference Active speakers for the front 3 (Studio 40 v.2 and Center Chanel v.2), and 2 Paradigm Reference ADP v.2 in the back.

Strength:
Musicality and neutrality
Weakness:
none at this price This processor is outstanding for the price. It plays music and movies very well. There are many settings that one can play with depending on room acoustics and speaker settings. I had Rotels and more expensive equipment but this unit compares well with the rest of them. Definitely a good bargain for the money. Strength:
Upgradable firmware/software/hardware. Neutral sound. Supports all kind of inputs you can think of. Stands up to NAD "music comes first" tradition!
Weakness:
No Firewire, HDMI, DVI support. This preamp has it all! Not unnecesary features but does an EXCELLENT job of decoding LOADS of different formats! As a reviewer said "There may be other pre/pro combinations that may have more bells & whistles but this combination is what a true bells & whistles should sound like"...it's something like that lol. Very neutral sound, very simple and easy to use, upgradeable in the future (hoping NAD brings out more upgrades in the future). |
