Price and cheap cord. should have been a tuner.

I haven't heard pre/pro over $2000, so I couldn't tell this 1066 is that good or not. I rate it 5 because it is as good as I'd expected. I just upgraded from receiver to separate system. The sound is better and warmer. I can hear more detail.

All formats bass is tighter easy to operate

I went from a sony receiver to this pre/pro.What a difference,bass got tighter that was my #1 noticeable difference although my only flaw is that I use a rotel tuner and when you go to adjust your bass it dims the tuner other than that music is great movies are spectacular. I would recommend this unit to anybody.Im running it with the RMB 1075 its a sweet combo.

Great Value! Nice looking!

Front Panel and Remote.

The 1066 is a great pre amp for the money. I found it close in sound to pre/pro's costing twice as much. The two things I did not like was the way the remote was laid out, and the way the front panel is laid out.

Excellent value for money. All current movie formats supported. Software upgradeable. Rotel has frequent contact with the end users (through HT forums) to get input for improvements and fixes.

Apparently has a double bass problem when used with 5.1/6.1 analog sources (SACD, DVD-Audio). Might get fixed with an software upgrade.

2002 model reviewed. Swedish price converted to USD. Very nice preamplifier from a well known hifi specialist. I use it with a Rotel RMB 1066 power amplifier and have no complaints. Movies are a joy to watch and music is nicely presented.
