A very nice 130 WPC MOS-FET amplifier. Clean, musical, plays deep bass and very very stable. Transparent. Well engineered. |

A full function solid state preamp. Straightforward, accurate, easy to use controls. Neutral, clean, unbiased sound. Very musical. Excellent engineering. At $299 up this is absolutely a top value. |

A great, but now discontinued CD player. Built by Van Alstine on a Magnavox/Phillips chassis/transport, it is much smoother and musical than others on the market. The product has been superseded by the TOPP-DAC series of digital audio converters. |

I have been using my Van Alstine OMEGAIII PRE-AMP for some time now, and it has performed great..it has an open transparent, smooth mid range and a low end that goes as deep as it gets....it was the DYNA PAT-5 REBUILD UPGRADE KIT FOR $299 IT IS A BARGAIN WITH SOUND TO RIVAL THE MOST EXPENSIVE STUFF OUT THERE....IT STRIPPED OUT THE OLD OBSOLETE DYNA CKTS AND REPLACED THEM WITH UP TO DATE FLAWLESS SOUNDING CIRCUIT DESIGN you just ain't paying a high markup for expensive advertising like the high end over priced stuff...the van alstine products are top notch quality and impressive sounding stuff.....a bargain for sonic bliss....this pre amp is so good (kit form, I installed the stuff), that I had my HAFLER DH500 power amp sent to van alstine for his OMEGAIII upgrade which is done only in his shop, since it is more work than can really be done right in a home envoirment...the OMEGA III 500 amp blew me away when I fired it up after receiving it back from VanAlstine(exactly when he said it would be returned also, very honest and reputable operation)...the bass goes down ,down down, WOW, the highs and midrange is so smooth and clean it was like taking the haze of grey off the car windows...these products, both the amp and preamp OMEGA III are superb and at a bargain price for high end top notch sound and reliabilty...I would recomend to anyone to buy the Van Alstine products..they are superb....and a bargain price for high end sonics and reliabilty...they have performed flawlessly since I first plugged them in and powered them up....GREAT STUFF |

My VanAlstine OMEGA III is the Hafler DH500 upgrade done by Frank at his shop in MN....It FANTASTIC...the sound opened up like the cleaning of dirty windows and now u can see...well the sound opened up and I was hearing bass and smooth midrange and voices with silky smooth highs (brush cymbals) like the old Hafler jsut could not do...since the HAFLER was probably a 20 year old circuit design..I had my Hafler for about 9 years so it was old design...the new OMEGA III from Van Alstine is a bargain...it rivals stuff costing much more....I highly recomend it....it has at least 250 watts per channel that wants to play silky smooth and never fatigues the ear.....I am still amazed at its clean sonics after using it for a few months now...GREAT STUFF...I will only buy Van Alstine audio electronics...he is a circuit guru..and extremely honest and reliable in all dealings with him....Check out his upgrades and new products with his name on em'...Audio bliss without the overpriced nonsense |

This is my initial impression after one long evening's listening. I bought a used Omega IIIEC from avahifi.com that they built using a PAT4 chassis. It's not much to look at, but for $395, WHAT SOUND! Compared to my Adcom GFP555, I'm hearing more detail, but with less fatigue. More smoothness, ample bass, full midrange. I was hoping for an audible improvement, and so far my expectations have more than been met. Very highly recommend for serious music lovers on a budget! |

I received my Omega III preamp and have been listening to it for a couple of weeks now. It replaced my Superphon preamp. The first thing I noticed was that the mid-bass bloat comming from my Vandersteen 2ci's was gone. I initially mistook this for a lack of mid-bass. But when the mid-bass came out on some of my rock and disco CD's the mid-bass was hitting hard and powerfull. It made my B&K St-140 sound like it was a new and more powerfull amplifier. It sounded like I went out and bought a new amp and not just a preamp. Plus in action movies I wasn't hearing of that low bass rumble at all. With the new preamp it's now there plus it's extended and powerfull. Now I don't have to worry about going out and purchasing a subwoofer which I don't like anyway because they're almost impossible to balance with the main spkrs anyway. One last note the highs are also now full and extended while at the same time sounding less harsh. I was able to turn the tweeter control on my spkrs back to the neutral position. For six hundred and fifty dollars(mine was $739 with the buffered tape outputs) it sounded as good as any solid state receiver I have yet heard at any price. Well worth a five star rating. |
