Bought this one owner transendence 8+ in 9 out of 10 condition. All I can say is WOW! Deep bass, smooth highs, fantastic imaging and sound stage. Have it paired with a nuforce sta-200 and its a magical combination. Mine came with optional remote and SS phono. If you can find, one highly recommended. Talked with Mr. Van Alstine and he stated that they are recommending using 6922 tubes now.

When it comes time to put new tubes in you have to remove a lot of screws.

Frank's latest all tube design is his best yet - It has dynamic contrast in spades. Bass kicks like a mule if your system goes low enough, and mid bass is punchy and rhythmic. You can't stop yourself from moving and groovin. This pre does highs superbly well too - the full dynamic spectrum from complex and massive to delicate and transcendent, without stepping wrong. All the weight with extension and clarity.

On appropriately mic'd recordings the performers are in the room. Goose bump time. Guess that's the bottom line!
