This Receiver is a real power house for only being 60 x 2 and sounds awesome and like it more then a larger powered receivers or amps. Glade I bought it!

This is the "big brother" to the 275RD. I think this is a very good receiver for the price. The 60 watts is enough for rather big speakers. The sound is very clear and it´s got a nice bass.
Buy it! Buy it NOW!

Strength:

Excellent sound quality, big power, user-friendly, no unneeded features

If I had to buy a receiver again I would by the same one because I researched the competition found this to be in my opinion the best stereo receiver for under $300.

Strength:

Excellent sound quality.

Weakness:

The transformer/power supply blew within 6 months due to a hair trigger fusable link. Likely overheated due to high volume use in a poorly ventilated cabinet (and the Grateful Dead!). Fixed under warranty. No problems since.

Overall very good unit. Denon is hard to touch within the mid-price range.

Strength:

Super High Power!!!, Variable Tone Control, Sleek look, Bannana Plugs for Speakers, Composite Video In/Out.

Weakness:

Remote Control (Volume Control, and AM/FM Control leaves something to be desired), No direct radio access. No sub pre-out. No expansion for EQ or power amp.

This is a great receiver. My neighbor hates it, hahaha! I have this baby hooked up to a pair of JBL S38 studios. This is a very nice little system for my room. The high current and low distortion is an added plus. If you like music and aren't worried about surround go for this model. This puppy out does any stereo receiver in this price range. I wanted a Harmon Kardon, but their first stereo receiver to come out in quite a few years ended up at Circut City two months after I purchased it. I was a little P/O. I came close to buying an Onkyo or Yamaha stereo receiver, but I just didn't like the way they sounded compared to this. The volume control for the remote really is stupid, and the fact there isn't a direct acces to radio staation leaves me laughing. I have a Sony 400 disc CD player and MD deck. This puupy purrsssssssss. Check out the Onkyo. It's a nice model for the same price but I still am happy I went with the Denon. Don't let the 60wpc scare you away, it's more then enough to rattle my house a part and peeve my neighbors. Good speakers and cable are nessecary.

I think this is a great receiver for the amount it costs. It produces a clear sound and seems to have a very even response
across the whole frequency range. Unlike some receivers I have heard
it doesn't muddle the low bass and mid bass, so that you can hardly
tell them apart. I think the tunner protion of the receiver is not
the most user-friendly, but it still works fine.
