Strength:

Loads of clean power.

Weakness:

Heavy and big.

I just bought one of these bad boys based on the reviews I saw. My god. Having used just the new style plastic stuff, I am now a true fan of the old-school technology. This thing absolutely thumps with the volume up to TWO! I would definitely blow the speakers I now have, were I to push the volume up to four or five. And as loud as it is, my speakers have never sounded. If you can find one of these buy it (I probably paid too much - $240 on E-bay), but for the price of a new "high-end" POS, $240 seems like a bargain.

Strength:

Great power, very sensitive tuner, rugged construction

Weakness:

weighs 53 lbs

This is one beautiful sounding and looking receiver. I purchased it new in 1980 and it still works beautifully. The beautiful blue tuning dial and chrome handles make this one big but attractive brute. One of the best features is its incredibly sensitive tuner (1.5 uV) - it is so sensitive I picked up a 3000 watt FM station over 250 miles away one night who just happened to be running a contest to find the listener who was the furthest out - I won. The DJ wasn't surprised when I told him which receiver I had. This is a truly great product.
