My dealer tells me that Niles has firmware problems with this unit and it does not handle metadat well for som ipods. That is true, if you do not mind rebooting a lot and are very patient for the reciever to catch up to your ipod you could call that a firmware problem. Before Niles could develop a solution to that problem however the zr6's starting blowing out, i.e. there is a problem in a component (perhaps power supply) that shuts the unit down in self protection mode. So before I could get the firmware update the whole thing crapped out. Have owne it for 2 1/2 months and it has worked (sort of) for less than 1/2 that time. Would not do the whole house thing again if I had to buy a Niles. POC. Do not buy one until Niles gets their act together.
