Really vague instructions for set-up I really researched a Surround Receiver before picking this one. My main goal was performance based on price because I was trying to build a home theater on a low budget ($1000). This receiver fit my budget and had the most amps and features than any other receiver in it's price class. Also, I talked to a lot of other home theater and music enthusiasts, and most of them recommended either Technics or Onkyo. Don't be fooled by retail stereo stores, watts don't mean a thing. You want amps. The more amps the receiver has, the heavier it is. To select a good, quality receiver, pick it up. This one ways in at 27lbs! Compare that with Yamaha, Sony, Bose, JBL, whatever; they're all lightweights. My only complaint with Onkyo is their instruction manual is weak. It takes a little patience to work through setting it up, but in the end, it's well worth it. Similar Products Used: Yamaha, Sony |

Weakness:
bass but get a sub fixs that. this is very good sound for the price and great job done with 5.1 but needs a little more power for the bass but if you buy a sub it fix that fine. and you need a sub if use it for hometheater. |
