Weakness:

Really vague instructions for set-up

I really researched a Surround Receiver before picking this one. My main goal was performance based on price because I was trying to build a home theater on a low budget ($1000). This receiver fit my budget and had the most amps and features than any other receiver in it's price class. Also, I talked to a lot of other home theater and music enthusiasts, and most of them recommended either Technics or Onkyo. Don't be fooled by retail stereo stores, watts don't mean a thing. You want amps. The more amps the receiver has, the heavier it is. To select a good, quality receiver, pick it up. This one ways in at 27lbs! Compare that with Yamaha, Sony, Bose, JBL, whatever; they're all lightweights. My only complaint with Onkyo is their instruction manual is weak. It takes a little patience to work through setting it up, but in the end, it's well worth it.

this is very good sound for the price and great job done with 5.1 but needs a little more power for the bass but if you buy a sub it fix that fine. and you need a sub if use it for hometheater.
