Pros: Sound reproduction is outstanding. Excellent frequency response throughout the entire range and noise level is fantastic, too. Smooth operation when it comes to selecting the souns source and teh group of speakers; almost no popping noise when switching sources, as well as speaker groups.

Cons: While the digital (SPDIF) input is active, the system mutes the speakers for about 1/2 of a second every now and then (most likely every time the cooling fan turns on), which is quite disturbing.
Also, the remote control has sections for controlling a TV and DVD/DVR, which is nice, BUT those controls only work on Pioneer TV/DVD/DVR. This is the first time I see a receiver that does not have programmable controls for input devices. Since I am not planning to replace my TV and DVD player, I guess this otherwise excellent receiver will have to go back where it came form. I am sorry Pioneer, I would have really enjoyed having listening to my movies and music through your receiver.
