Strength:
Classic looks, plenty of "real" power, extra ordinary clarity.
Weakness:
Noticable noise at low volume levels, only noticable with very good cables and speakers, noise (not distortion) from headphone outputs. I bought this unit off of Ebay.com for $350. What a deal! This thing looks BEAUTIFULL! I love the varnished exterior. This thing sounds BEAUTIFULL! The tones and clarity, oh my oh my. This thing has POWER! Can power even your gigantic magnapans. The only problem with my unit is that some of the inputs are dead, and it has a little noise (not to be confused with distortion). It has triple tone controls too, very handy. (bass, mid, treb) Due to its heavy duty circuitry, this thing should last me at least a quarter of the way through this next century. They just dont make receivers like this any more..PS the model year is from the 70's, but that wasnt an option on the menu. |

Strength:
Power, Clarity, Worksmanship, tuner
Weakness:
Slight hiss, inaudible when music is played at my usual listening levels. Lack of remote (made before they were available) Got this hooked up, bi-wired, to a pair of Acoustic Energy Aegis 3's, sounds amazing, you can feel the power and how effortlessly it drives the speakers, which I highly recommend as well. Don't think I could get this kind of sound for twice the price today. Tuner is excellent as well |
