Strength:
Sound Quality,Ease of Operation,Looks
Weakness:
NONE I''ve been around when it comes to good audio receivers,i''ve never owned a G-5700 but compared to my Sony Surround Receiver there''s no matching the quality sound the G-5700 puts out,as far as i''m concerned the surround receivers should be for movies only,i don''t plan on getting rid of my Sansui as a matter of fact i plan on buying a 9090DB and a G-9000,(Good listening to all.) |

Strength:
Simplicity, performance, sound quality.
Weakness:
None... I purchased the G-5700 back in college in '79 and it's been a terrific unit for 20 years! Was and always has been a great sounding unit with all of the bells & whistles (circa 1979!). Pushes my Klipsch Heresy speakers (and a Klipsch KSW-12 sub) REAL well! Recently developed a problem with one of my channels dropping out intermittantly, as well as the slide rule freq. pointer being out of kilter with the digital frequency readout (will be taking it in for service on both of those bugs...). AM reception was always poor, but never really used it for that. FM reception was pretty good, and after I added a Terk AM/FM pi active antenna, it's terrific. Will be keeping this unit for many moons! |

I've had my G-5700 since 1980 and I love it. I recently bought a Kenwood VR-209 for home theater use (Digital Dolby). I have to admit that it seems to me that the G-5700 has better sound. I put the G-5700 in the rec room for now. Will never get rid of it. |
