Strength:
Clean sound, excellent depth and clarity
Weakness:
none I bought mine a month ago from e-bay.com. I got it now, It is powerful, beautiful, and BIG!...I was very astounded in the quality of sound. Forget any of the new recievers today. I once heard a Old Toshiba Reciever. It was 25% bigger than my Sansui but counded like Crap....the Sansui is 200 times better :-) Similar Products Used: Pioneer Elite, Denon, Old Akai |

Strength:
Super Clean Power, Nice Sound.
Weakness:
BIG! Not enough inputs, controls get dirty. I started out as a casual listener with a Realistic reciever in the mid 80s, I was never pleased with the sound of my system and I could not find the problem, was it my speakers? Other sourses, or the reciever?. After spending money replacing almost everything I had, Speakers, Vynl to CD, EQ, I finaly replaced Realistic with a Kenwood and after all was said and done I STILL wasn't pleased. Then in 1994 I picked up a Sansui G-8000 for $50.00, After some cleaning of the controls I got it working well and I hooked everything up. Holy SH##! Satisfaction at LAST! This thing made my system jump to life, Everything sounded better up and down the spectrum. I listened to my colection of CDs for hours amazed at what I had ben missing. This Sansui of the 70s made my system and became my most prized posession. Similar Products Used: Sansui G-8000, Pioneer, Sony, Kenwwod, Realistic. |

Strength:
Excellent sound quality, Clarity
Weakness:
Controls often very dirty/wore because of age I spent my "teen" years listening to a friends G-9000. It was one of the best purchases besides beer that was made as a bunch of us rented a house together. Often times we had parties where there were no less than 10 pair of speakers hooked up to that unit. We even would connect a string of old christmas tree lights to the outputs and have them flashing to the beat at the same time! The unit works today with of course some dirt in the controls. Similar Products Used: G-9000 - modern "black" trash |

Here's another oldie but a goodie. My Sansui G-7500 Reciever. It's 22 years old now and still running clear and strong. When you compare alot of the recievers today to the old stuff it just doesnt come close in power and clarity. I also have a Technics home theatre reciever that i bought in January and it doesnt sound as clean as the Sansui.I know the G series recievers of this time were very popular. If any one has this model Sansui or any other G series Reciever I would like to hear from you. please post |

They don't make them like they use to before. Sansui amps had awesome dynamics, sound, and power. Where did they go? The Sansui now is definitely not the same |

I have read the reviews on the G7500 and 9090, but can anyone tell me how thw G8000 and g9000 sound? I own a g6700 and believe me when I say it sounds very very good indeed, I own a bryston 4B-st stereo amp, a linn lp12 turntable , and a pair of mirage m1-si speakers, i also own a pioneer sx 1280 mint, The g6700 rated at 90 watts, sounds better than the sx 1280 rated at 185 watts, it's how the circuits are designed that maks them sound the ways they do, if anyone out there has any write ups on any of these receivers , or the G8000, or G9000, please let me know. thanks alan.... |
