Strength:
Easy to set up, highly customizable, On screen programming, sound clarity and price.
Weakness:
None so far. This is my third receiver upgrade since 1995, I started with a Sony which promptly went back due to poor sound clarity and high levels of "hissing" at higher volumes. I moved up to a Yamaha Entry level receiver R-V703 which produced much clearer sound and no hissing. A few weeks ago I moved up to the Yamaha 5460 for a little more kick, DTS, and optical inputs. I've been pleased so far and will continue to update my experiences as they unfold. My set includes the following: JBL N series Center, JBL HLS820 Mains, JBL N26 series surrounds, and an entry level Yamaha 8" subwoofer. If you're in the market for a new receiver and want the most for your money, this is definately your box! Similar Products Used: Sony, Yamaha |
