@ 75 WATTS/CHNNL INTO 8 OHMS WITH DISCRETE CIRCUITRY, IT HANDLES THE PARALLEL SPEAKER WIRING I HAVE HOOKED UP TO MY FRONT/L/R/SBWFR TO AVOID THE DUAL CROSSOVER PROBLEMS. A REAL PLUS IS YAMAHA'S SILENT CINEMA, WHICH IS HEADPHONE 5.1/6.1 SURROUND SOUND !! THE UNIT ALSO ALLOWS THE USER TO APPLY THE MANY HIFI/CINEMA DSP EFFECTS & PARAMETERS TO THE HEADPHONES!!! SO, THE AUDIO SOUNDSCAPES OPEN UP WHEN COMPARED TO EITHER NORMAL STEREO OR ANY OTHER COMPETING HEADPHONE SURROUND SYSTEM!!! I USE THE SENNHEISER HD 600S AS MY PERSONAL SPACE!!!! WHAT PUNCH!!!!!
Weakness:
I WISH I COULD HAVE MORE CROSSOVER SETTINGS, INSTEAD OF ONE @ 90HZ!!!! I LOVE THIS RECEIVER!! IT HAS DD/DTS 5.1 & (MATRIX 6.1)!=WHICH TRANSLATES INTO THE L/R SRRND SPKRS CREATING A VIRTUAL BACK SPEAKER WITH 5.1 SOURCES!! IT'S INCREDIBLE!!! MY LIVING ROOM NEEDS THIS . AS, I HAVE NO ROOM FOR BACK SPEAKERS!! SUCH IS THE REALITY OF LIMITATIONS IN OUR LIVING SPACES,ESPECIALLY APARTMENTS!!!! Similar Products Used: ONKYO TXSR501,,,DENON 1601,,, |

Price, clarity for the price, color
Weakness:
Unintuitive setup menu, small remote I have wanted a dolby digital, dts 5.1 system for the last 2 years. I finally had 200 to 250 dollars to spend on an entry level receiver. I ended up buying the 5730 from best buy. For the price and considering I have cheap speakers and have a small living room in an apartment this receiver definitely does the job. For someone that has the same situation and money to spend, this is the receiver for you. Similar Products Used: sony dolby prologic receiver |
