Strength:

reliability

Weakness:

a little hesitancy in the startup.

I do an on-line radio show once a week, nothing too heavy duty (no scratching, etc) and it serves the purpose. I haven't had any problems with it although I'd like to move up to a Technics at some point.

Strength:

* Decent torque compared to cheaper competitors.

* LOT of features like a wider pitch range and DSP.

* Decent build quality and very attractive to look at.

* Excellent learning tool for younger deejays

Weakness:

* Poor sound quality! I noticed the difference immediately upon getting my Technics.

* Ultimately just not torquey or rugged enough to support a deejaying career.

* DSP was worthless. Wider pitch range will be missed tho.

The Stanton STR8-80's were the decks I started with before stepping up to Technics. Chock full of features and sporting an attractive price and multicolor LEDs (red, green, and blue), these were the best decks I could find without paying top dollar.

But, I quickly outgrew them and unloaded them on a friend who seems quite happy to use them for a different style of mixing.

Similar Products Used:

Technics, plus whatever I've played around with in the store.
