I was given my jubilee version of the td 147 from my cousin. Her father had brought it new in 1983. A limited edition gold finish model. I loved that TT when I was a child and he would play his classic music and dance and conduct as he smiled and sung in his german english. He treated it carefully and allowed me to put on records when i was older.

I've been a big vinyl fan for a long time but got back into it over the past 3 years. I had a Dual CS-528 that I bought new in 1983 with an Ortofon OM-10 cartridge connected to an early Adcom GFP-1A preamp & GFA-2 amp into ADS L-570 Speakers. To give you a sense of my view of performance, I'd rate my system as an entry-level audiphile system. You may have another opinion, but that may help you calibrate my view to yours.

Strength:
Durability.and absolute flawless sound reproduction.
Weakness:
Isolation, but comes with the territory. I ordered this turntable as the Jubilee model in 1983. It's performance over the last twenty five years has been nothing less than remarkable. It is set up with the original cartridge and stylus(Stanton 981 HZS/D98S) and has been played continuously. I do not own a single CD. As an avid vinyl collector this table has been put thru the ringer.I had it tuned in Oct. of 83', Nov. of 92' and the last was done in June of 05', the stylus showed slight wear with left output 4.5 millivolts, right output 4.2 millivolts. Trackability at low freq.velocity 30 cm/sec, midrange 31.5 cm/sec, and high freq( L& R) 30 cm/sec. I,ve replaced the belt once and had to replace the pwr cord other than this it has been flawless. I have owned twelve turntables since 1964, all high end ,and this table hands down is the top of the heap everything considered. If you get a chance to aquire one do not hesitate.
