Strength:
Totally musical. Neutral with zero noise floor, very low distortion, enhanced cartridge life. Suddenly have a new record collection!
Weakness:
It is expensive but what price beauty The Well Tempered Reference turntable and arm set a whole new standard for what I believed was possible for vinyl replay. This turntable, contrary to popular wisdom, is capable of playing music with pure emotion. In simpe terms it connects and can modify your mood with music like no other turntable I have used. Setup is not straight forward, the importer helped me but once running the system disappears leaving glorious music, it seems like a lot of money for something that tries to do nothing! Bass: Extended with massive amounts of real texture. Midrange: Totally grain free, low distortion and detail in abundance Treble: Again extended and totally free of fatigue inducing problems. But these breakdowns miss the point, the Well Tempered reference integrates everything so well that you forget the petty issues and enjoy the performance. Strength:
Very quiet noise floor, unique sonic charater of low distortion & very stable soundstage, Very stable quality once you set it up, high resolution sound, deep tight bass, transparent mid, clean treble & good ambinance
Weakness:
High price compared with its apperance & material used, not the ultimate choice in Dynamic compared with the highest grade table (TNT 5, Rockport, Micro Seiki SX8000II with ET2.5 or even Roksan TMS etc.) Upgraded it from Well-tempered Classic V, I found the main improvement is on Bass - deeper, tigter & cleaner. The treble is comparatively more extended than Classic V. Similar Products Used: Linn LP12, Roksan Xeres, Sota with ET2, Oracle Dephil 3 with SME, Micro Seiki RX1500, Well Tempered RP, Classic V. |

Strength:
Ability to optimize cartridge; disappears sonically; simple and reliable in use; the best tonearm I've encountered in 35 years.
Weakness:
Set up is so difficult, at least on the Sota Star, that this will (sadly) sink it for many. What a shame that more people can't enjoy this. This review is actually for the Well Tempered Reference Tonearm only, adapted for a Sota Star (vacuum hold-down) TT... Similar Products Used: Many; just replaced Rega RB300 with Heavyweight |

Strength:
Musical timing. Tonality. Bandwidth.
Weakness:
Difficult to setup properly. Needs plenty of time for trial & error because the silicon must settle after each change. That ofen takes hours. For the money, Inhave not heard better. For me personally, analogue at this level is peerless. Provided of course that one can obtain a decent quality Vinyl. One is still subject to the same issues with digital anyway!
