Strength:

Smooth, detailed, natural. Wood sounds like wood, strings sound like strings, cymbals sound like symbols. Not unnaturally bright, even w/ metal tweeters.

Weakness:

Not quite as dynamic as the Coral, but almost as much detail and smoother.

I have used this cable for 6 months in both the CD to Pre and Pre to Power position. This is an excellent cable in the "affordable" range. They replaced an older set of Audioquest Topaz. The difference was night and day. Big improvement in detail, without an an increase in brightness. Even without being broken in. Not quite as dynamic as the Corals, but not as bright either. Speakers are B&W 602s2, solid state front end.

Similar Products Used:

Audioquest Coral, Topaz, Straightwire Encore, various Monster.

Strength:

Attractive, good detail in upper frequncy range,

Weakness:

low frequencies are muted. Sorry the LAT''s are better!

I had settled on using the Diamondbacks as my standard mid-fi interconnect. Until I got a chance to test these against 5 other cables at home one Saturday. What a chore swapping in/out all these cables and playing the same CD''s over and over. In this case the Diamondbacks came out in second place. To make a long story short; while the dbacks are attractive and have great detail, I didn''t know how much bass I was missing until I plugged in the LAT IC100''s. In this case the LAT''s exceeded the performance of the dbacks, as well as all the others, especially in the low frequencies and had a slightly warmer sound throughout the full range. Wish I could have tried Cardas and MIT''s at the time. Equipment; HK Sig 2 preamp/proc, Marantz MM9000 amp, Denon DCM-370, Onkyo tape, Marantz DV-7010, B&W 801 Matrix S2, LAT SS1000D bi-wire, B&W HTM2, Dahlquist PDQ-16, Aq Crystal 2 cable.

Strength:

Very clean interconnect. Look good

Weakness:

None that I can think of except maybe that they cost 90 bucks

I was surprised to see 0 reviews for this interconnect.. so I thought I'd start it out. I'm just getting started with the high end audio stuff. The interconnects are supposed to be very good from what my salesman told me (of course, I'm sure he was on commission too). They are supposed to resist interference from outside sources. I'm running:

Harman/Kardon AVR20mkII
AudioQuest Diamondback interconnects
AudioQuest Type 4+ speaker cable
NHT 1.5M bookshelf speakers on stands

THe result is a very clean sound. Spaciality is outstanding. Listening to my cleanest jazz albums is quite impressive. I figure the interconnects help a lot.
