Cardas Audio Crosslink Interconnect Cables

Cardas Audio Crosslink Interconnect Cables

DESCRIPTION

Crosslink is our least expensive cable. It is the only Cardas cable sold in bulk, and it can be terminated by a Cardas dealer. It is very flexible and light weight. Multi-gauge, Golden Section, Constant Q conductors are used. Teflon® and cotton create the dielectric, with double shielding and a neoprene jacket.

Strength:

Flexibility

Weakness:

Congested soundstage and dull top-end

I bought this cable when I had Mirage OM-10's (which are very bright speakers). With Mirage's Crosslink performed nicely, they provided smoother top-end than TaraLabs cable which I used at that time.

Things changed when I got rid of Mirage's and bought Oracle Helicon's. Cardas cables were beaten and replaced by cheap Supra Ply's. That was the first time I found out that it was that cardas cables (I had interconnect too) were the reason for dull and congested sound. After replacing interconnects and speaker cables music became more lively and enjoyable.

I don't certainly understand what's the magic on Cardas cables. They have specs similar to normal zip-cord and that's pretty close how they sound too. Perhaps the bass is a bit better than cheaper cables but otherwise this cable is just waste of money.
