Clarity, fast, detailed ...

None at this price unless you really want to nit-pick

Most of the reviewers sum it up pretty well. This is an excellent IC. However, I can see them perhaps being a tad "bright" in the "wrong" system.

A little different perspective ...

I was looking for the "just right" IC's for my system, two components of which are a tube CDP and hybrid integrated.
Well, I thought I had found those "just right" IC's when I ran a length of Kimber KCAG's between CDP and Integrated.
Only problem was that they weren't mine but were borrowed from a friend and I was putting off giving them back.
Not wanting to spend $400+, I researched, read reviews and borrowed/auditioned cables in the under $250 per meter range. I got close at times but not quite there.
Finally, was ready to buy a set of Kimbers of my own and heard about the Homegrowns. Even though I'm very capable with a soldering station, I went ahead and paid the extra for them pre-assembled and figured with the 30 day money back deal, I had nothing to lose.

Suffice it to say that they ain't going back, and it's too late anyway :)
I'm not sure if Homegrown was going for the KCAG sound or not but he got there. I honestly love these cables every bit as much as the KCAG's. Occassionally, I hear a very familiar track that makes me think that there may be a subtle difference between these and the KCAG's, I'm sure there probably is but I can't say that the KCAG's are any "better" and besides I'd be getting into serious nit-picking not to mention that diminishing returns thingy.

One thing I do know is that I'm happy. I could have afforded the KCAG's but I'm happy I didn't have to. These are every bit as "just right".
I'll be cabling the remainder of the system in the very near future with these IC's and I may even save a few bucks more and buy the kits next time.
