Strength:

Clean and fast. Hear many subtle sounds that I had not heard before.

I'm relatively new to the audiophile environment. I have upgraded from RSb Infinity and Klipsch Heresy speakers to Magnapan 1.6s. With the Maggies I decided to explore higher-end cables which led me to Analysis-Plus. In my search for cables I spoke with a number of dealers and one of them suggested I try Analysis-Plus, they were new on the block and had an oustanding sound. I for one, never put much credence into reports that speaker cable made a difference but I decided to do some comparisons. I had been using a lower line of Kimber on my previous system and when I compared the Oval Twelve with the Kimber there was unquestionably and audible difference. The Maggies came alive and I could hear subtleties like a saxaphonist taking a breath. I also compared Transparent Music Wave Plus bi-wired which was over twice the price. The difference was so minor my friend and I had to listen to the same song six times to discern between them. To save a little money I had Analysis connect a jumper to the speaker end of the cable to configure it as short run of bi-wire. The Transparent was fully bi-wired. I'm really impressed with the cables and these are the lower end of the spectrum. I think I paid a little over $200 for a 12 foot pair with bananas and the jumper-from what I've seen a very reasonable price. I can only imagine what the Oval 9 and Oval Silver can offer.

Strength:

Clear, uncolored, fast, extended, detailed sound

Weakness:

My Oval 12 speaker cables are ten feet long with bananas.
They feed my Klipsch KLF 20 mains. I have a single Oval 12 for my Klipsch C5 center speaker as well as a short Oval 12 jumper between the two sets of binding posts on each KLF 20. The Oval 12s replace Monster 2.2 cables which are very good on the KLF 20s.
I enjoy classical and jazz music, both stereo and multichannel. The first impression was a wider and much deeper sound stage. Instruments seemed more precisely placed and there seemed to be more places for them between the speakers.
I love bass. The Oval 12s sent the bass deeper and clearer than I have ever heard from the KLF 20s. A bowed string bass is just incredible. A plucked bass, a la Diana Krall, is fast, clear and thumps you like a subwoofer should.
The mid range is warm, which is important on big Klipsch speakers. It seems to have shifted from lower mid range with the Monster 2.2s, to the entire mid range on into the highs. Woodwinds and mid range brass are smooth and very live sounding. Violins no longed sound screechy or harsh.
The highs. I now understand why product review writers can become so excited about well done highs. These Oval 12s have a clarity and extention that is hard to describe. The highs just appear in space, there is no longer a sense of a speaker out there. You can hear the decay of a cymbal or triangle go to infinity. The upper limits of a violin are so crisp, clear and precise.
All of the great musical qualities of the Oval 12 speaker cables make DVD movies just as delightful.
Dialogue is clear and life like. There seems to be a deeper separation between dialogue, background music and sound effects.
I worked with Oliver at Delve Audio to learn about ANALYSIS PLUS products and to make the correct choice in cables. He will make up any length and termination your system needs.
I am very pleased with my choice of Oval 12 speaker cables.

I'm new at this so bear with me,

Initially when I heard about this cable I was kinda intrigued with its design being hollow oval instead of the conventional round that almost everybody else is using. I checked out their webpage and I learned that the people who design this cable were engineers that use to work for big cable manufacturers that I won't even mention here. anyway I decided to try out the cable and Oliver from Delve Audio was kind enough to give me a good deal on it. I decided to try out the Analysis Oval Twelves since I don't think my systems justifiable yet to get the Oval 9s.
So I receive the cable and replace my AQ indigos right away,I started of with Drive Time by David Benoit, and about a minute into it I find myself in awe, I never thought a change of speaker cable can make that much of a difference, talk about 3 dimensional sound, natural , involving. As I go thru the whole CD I thought I upgraded my whole system threefolds of what it's worth right now.
I heard every bit of instrument no matter where I got the volume at (may have something to do with my CD player to), and the base was just flowing and accurate. And this is all right out of the box, no break-in time yet. Let me put this way, I started to realize the music when before I was only hearing it.
I place my AQ indigos at ebay that same night.

Strength:

Detail.... depth.... price.... flexible.... quality construction...

Weakness:

I haven't found anything to complain about.

I really thought that I needed Silver speaker wire to add the detail I felt I was missing. A friend said that, silver isn't for everyone... and (thanks) suggested I try this cable he had heard. He referred me to the Oval 9, but I tried the lesser priced Oval 12 (151.00 for my 8ft pair), since my system is not that powerful.... I figured I could get away with 12 guage.

I have to say, I am not a professional reviewer.. I have no fancy words.... I however, can say that this cable is awesome. I heard detail that I had never heard before from my favorite cds. I heard Kenny Rankin's voice linger like never before. I tried the Burmester CD3 and am still replaying it... I have heard the word 'natural' used... I guess that means that everything sounds just right.... I agree... if you need to buy wire soon.... do yourself a favor... hold off on your purchase... look into this new wire....

Strength:

Transparent, uncolored, warm, reasonable price, rugged and flexible, gold plated bananas

Weakness:

none if you don't mind purple and bronze cables

I compared the 8ft bi wire with bananas with the Alpha Core MI 1 bi-wires. Both were very good and identical in terms of speed, clarity, and bass response. However there was a difference in warmth with the Analsis Plus being noticeabley warmer. In my system, the warmer cable was the better sonic match

Strength:

standard setting performance for the price....may well be the best cheap cable around. Very flexible and easy to manage. very balanced performance.

Weakness:

the bitter end of the crimped terminations is open to air...potentially exposing the cable to oxidation.

I must preface any cable recommendation with the warning that cables are very system dependent. This is why you must try before you buy. Please try cables in your home set-up. Do not rely on dealer demos.

That said, I will state unconditionaly that these Analysis Plus Oval 12 cables are the best sounding speaker cables I have had in my home.

I bought them for rather pratical reasons. I must move my speakers for serious listening as they are normaly only a few inches from the long wall of my living room. The Nordost Blue Heaven cables are fairly stiff and fragile...I worried about my kids stepping on them and kinking them too sharply.
I had Analysis Plus Silver Oval interconnects in my system for a while (burning them in for a friend overseas). I was mildly impressed with them compared to the Blue Heaven interconnects. The AP cables were a tad smoother and they eliminated the slight hum that was evr present (the APs are sheilded). However, the AP silver cables did not blow me away enough to motivate me to part with $600.00 +.
Based on this fairly favorable experience with the silver interconnects, I thought the Oval 12 speaker cables were as good a risk as any...plus they are cheap.

I was not prepared for how good these cables sounded in my system. They simply trounced the Nordost BLue Heavens out of the box. They increased the size of the soundstage in all dimmensions. The were also subjectlvely faster and cleaner sounding. The AP Oval 12s sounded much more balanced...to the point that they exposed an over-emphasis in the lower treble/upper midrange with the Blue Heavens that I did not know was there previously. The Nordost cable had an artificial, peaky presentation in comparison.

Needless to say I am very pleased with these cables. I do not intend to upgrade my speaker cables any further...these are that good! And they are cheap! only a gift would be better.

I will try the Copper Oval Interconnects at sometime in the future as well (they are considerably more expensive than the speaker cable).

Again, I must caution that this recommendation is based on my system alone (Sola Systema?). You may indeed see different results in your set up.

Bass, detail and imaging

The folks at Audio Advisor have been very patient with me. I tried the 12 gauge. It is too "thin" for me. The imaging was too flat and the detail seemed foggy. I then tied the Oval 9. It was better but still kind of lacking. So I tried the cardas on the recommendation of a friend. It was a tad cheaper then the oval 9 and much better. It's not perfect and I am stil looking, but it will do for now.

Strength:

excellent construction, good bass, let's the music play

Weakness:

price

These cables, without any break-in, seemed to infuse my system with more musical energy. Music became more exciting and involving. Bass came through strong and tight, but not overemphasized. The soundstage is precise and mids and highs are clean.

Got very good service from Oliver at Delve Audio, he let me do a home demo and I only needed 10 seconds of listening to realize the high quality of these cables.

You can probably find musically satisfying cable for less, but if you want the peace of mind that you're getting the best in the $200-500 range, give these a try. These cables are worth the price, if they were $100-150, I'd give them 5 stars for value.

very detailed highs, natural deep bass, soundstage, everything they are awesome!

Weakness:

none

i was very skeptical about this cable when i first heared about them on this web site. so i called oliver at delve and told him i had been using tara rsc products and that they are supposed to be the best, so what makes this cable so special. he gladly informed me that analysis-plus are the best cables he has ever heard and that they truely are awesome. i told him that i wanted to try them if i could do a return if unhappy with them, because i was sure they couldn't sound better. he siad that he had never had a return on them but would be glad to return them if unhappy.

well after switching them i did a 2 day, 48 hour burn-in and they sounded horrible, so i call oliver back and he said you need to burn them for at least 100 hours and you'll hear the difference. so after about 70 hours i went back to take a little listen to see if there was any change going on, and sure enough they had bloomed into this incredable sound. after 100 hours they sounded even better with the sound stage opening up and the highs and bass becoming very realistic. i have never heard cables that sound this good and am very happy that i let them burn in long, because i almost returned them at 48 hours. they definitely sound much better than they tara rsc products. i also tryed the oval in interconnect with same results, they are also incredible and would definitely recommend them both. thanks for a great product analysis-plus! x
