Strength:
Balanced, clean, controlled. Good bass response.
Weakness:
A little lacking in dynamics and extension in highs. I've had this cable for about half a year.

Mine is 12ft pair full-range with silver spades. Retail is $912, but got some discount for it. It was my first +$500 cable. Of course it is awesome, but decided to go for a mammoth. The result is, gibraltar is better!!! Don't know how to explain, try it yourself. like it buy it, hate it ignore it. Strength:
everything
Weakness:
nothing Actually I have the Granite which has the same PSC+ and PSC as the Gibaltar except it has one less PSC+ in the bass section. Anyways, I too have Kimber 8TC in my system before this cable, my Kimber sounded good but like the other reviewer said it does sound jerky or to me never fully broken in or not consistant from listening session to listening session and all different types of music. Kimber 8TC on comparison is a little more airy and the bass is not quite as full and deep as the AQ. With the AQ all music comes thru as it was recorded and the highs never go wild like with the Kimber, the AQ cable is warmish being so because the bass is full and the back ground is dead quiet which is why it only seems to be warmer than Kimber but really it adds nothing in terms of warmth. AQ just lets the natural bass lines of music come thru like it was supposed to from the start. With Casandra Wilson -Walking Miles I noticed clearly every note in the bass region on her tracks and the bass line was there like never before, deeper and fuller more musical than before, the highs are perfect shimmering and clear vocals are tight and clear and the soundstage is deep and wide. I also noticed some instruments that I never heard before and like I said the highs never get out of control as with the Kimber at times. My system consists of Adcoms top of the line CD player, Anthem Pre 2L pre-amp with NOS tubes, Aragon 8008 amp and Dynaudio speakers I also use AQ Diamond IC's which are great as well. Strength:
Very balanced cable, no stress of certain frequencies. Airy hi frequency. I use the single bi-wire version. Very good hi frequency and mid range. The bass is tight enough. A well balanced cable. It beats my previous MIT in mid and hi but maintain more or less the same bass. Similar Products Used: MIT Terminator 2 single bi-wire, Audioquest Blue, Tara Labs Quamtum 3+ |

Strength:
open, smooth, clear, sweet and airy, detail, dynamic, soundstage and deep low tight bass.
Weakness:
none After experiment and tried a few speaker cable such as cable talk, ixos, monster, cardas, etc and other audioquest model for a year. Apparently, i have decide and settle with audioquest gibraltar after auditioned it, i felt this is a good investment to match my overall system. For those who like to purchase this stuff, my advice go for biwiring as recommended in the hi-fi magazine for better separation and stereo imaging depend on speaker capabality. This stuff have been sounded amazingly on my current equipment. Similar Products Used: none |

Weakness:
Not deep and firm bass like 8TC First cable what is better than my Kimber 8TC.Much more musical and natural then 8TC.Kimber sound very rough and harsh, and jerky compared to Gibraltar.Maybe only bass is not as deep and firm like 8TC, but the cable was not full break-in. Similar Products Used:
