Maybe a bit too bright sounding? Heavier gauge interconnects sound more accurate but cost a helluva lot more too!

First time I used these I thought my system sounded terrible! Way too bright. Well, I had an equalizer to boost the highs before and then I flattened the response. Now it sounds great! Anyone want to buy an equalizer? If you can''''''''t tell the difference with these, you simply have junk speakers!

I like these cables a lot, especially when connected to a CD player. I had been using Synergistic Research THC cables. These were highly detailed, but a bit bright. When listening to music I found myself listening more analytically. There were all kinds of details on my CDs I had never noticed before. The problem was the sound was also fatiguing to listen to for very long. When I switched to the Turquiose cables the sound was smoother, and less fatiguing, but also a little less detailed. This was a trade off I could live with. The AQ cables were more musical (or at least facilitated a more pleasant musical experience). BTW, I notice a lot of the reviews here claim "I couldn't hear a difference between these and generic cables." IMO you can't just do a quick A/B test on cables. You must keep them in your system for awhile to really notice the differences. One might reasonably ask, "if the difference is that subtle then is it worth the price difference?". In my opinion (in this case) it is, after all it is often the subtle differences that result in exponentially greater musical enjoyment. Cables can make a difference, but I am suspicious of reviews that say things like "I was immediately blown away by the sound of these cables." I wasn't immediately blown away by the AQ Turquoise, but I was impressed by them after using them long-term.

Okay, here's the deal. If you have quality equipment (not a&b sound retail stuff), you will notice a difference in sound. I was using middle of the line monster cable and when I put this cable in WOW! super detailed

I purcahsed these cables after some research and the claims made by AQ, got home and started my comparisons(at the time the only other cables I had were the OEM).As soon as I put these in, I did not want to belive what I was hearing!! Sound much less transparent and 3 dimensional than even the OEM cables, but after cooling down(& the fact I drove 100 miles & spent $40 on these) I decided to keep them in my system for a while just to see how they sounded after break-in. After about 2 weeks of almost music non-stop(sorry, had to do it)I decided to perform another comparison. This time bass was a little more pronounced & at about the same level as the OEM's.That's about the only change. About a month after that I purchased a pair of now discontinued RS Home Theater gold interconnects at the amazing price of only $4.99. When compared directly with the AQ, bass was less noticeable than on the AQ but vocals & mid-treble was MUCH clearer. But I decided to stay with the AQ and sell the RS cables to an unsuspecting friend for a $10 profit. I still use the AQ to this day but will be getting rid of them soon to another poor chap. All in all I would not reccommend(sp?) these cables to ANYONE!

I ordered these with a cd player years ago and never even tried the cables the cd player came with. I've recently compared them to the cables that were included with my sony dvd player and I could not tell them apart.

A "disappointment". I could not tell any appreciable difference between the AQ cables and some standard OEM cables I had lying around. Other equipment: Sony XA3ES CD player, NAD 314 amp, NSM Model 50 loudspeakers. I also A/B'd through a pair of Sennheiser HD-580s (good, high-resolution cans) via the 314. I have an experienced ear and since I use decent electronics, I conclude the placebo effect makes these cables sound good for other users. Save your money for CDs.

This was my first cable. I think he is a very fine cable.He's very warm, some don't like the way he presents music, but compared to others of some price and a little above, we found something special in him. The loopy bass, the controled treble a vey integrated midband make this cable a fine piece to rock, very hard if you want, pop music, dance music, and latino music (samba,manbo,etc...).For the price a gave im 4 star's.

Good product! I have been using these cables for about three(3) years, and have no reason to complain. Right now my system is still only a Pro-Logic system, but that is going to change this month. These cable are definitely better than the standard OEM cables that come with most equipment. I also use the video-one cables for (of course,) video, and they work great together. Not a cheap cable, but not a high-priced one either. If your looking the upgrade from the OEM's then this is a cable for you to try.

Very noticable difference between these and the RS cables - but that's not unexpected. Differences between these and the Monster Cable interconnects (I don't remember which model I had) were a little more subtle, and took longer to notice. Detail definitely better. I've got Audioquest Type 2 speaker cables as well, and I feel much the same way about them. Great cables if you can find them.

I have nothing but praise for these cables. I have them between my CD changer and Denon recv. Very happy with the sound, build, and price. If either of the people who rated these cables a "1" here would contact me, I'll be more than happy to take their "disappointments" off of their hands. Is your money (my money, I guess) where your mouths are guys?
