Strength:

Tonal balance

Weakness:

none

This is the second review on Talk 3.1 and I must confess I´m even more satisfied...
after burning in for some weeks it sounds even better !
this is the best cable I have ever heard.
Well I believe cables are system dependent and I have
a budget one, but this is a cheap cable too...
This cable makes my bookshelf Sony speakers shine !
Tonal balance is the best thing about cable talk 3.1, everything
sounds so natural...compared to the other cables I´ve tried.
I really don´t understand the bad reviews on this one because
I don´t consider Ixos 6003 or Qed Qudos better than Talk 3.1...
different ? maybe...
better ? don´t think so...

i switched from this cable to cambridge audio linea 8.4 and noticed a great improvement in sound especially in the higher frequencys and would advise anybody with a half decent system to try other cables to.

Strength:

Neutral, Sweet, Fast.

Weakness:

Rescessed mid range

This is a neutral sounding cable with realistic ambiance. Bass is good and high is excellent, as other reviewer said, cymbals sound like "in real life", much more natural than those AQ products. The only drawback is its mid range, vocals sound like there is a veil over them. I now paired it with Hitachi SX (driving bass) in a bi-wire setting.

3 Stars for single wire.
5 Stars for bi-wire (high).

Weakness:

Cable is hard to bend

Wow, this is the first proper cable I have ever used. I recently went from a budget mini system to a budget av-seperates system, & the difference was staggering. The high frequency reproduction is quite simply out of this world. I thought it was my new speakers, but reading what other people have said, it looks like it is the cable making quite a difference!!

Exceptional performance and balance for the price (£2.25/M).Excellent midrange cohesion, clean treble, and good bass extension.
Slight smearing of bass lines in complex passages.

Brilliant stuff for £2.25/m. Very good overall balance but it can lack smoothness and bass tends to get a bit lost in complex passages. But at less than three quid a metre, its a bargain.

It's ok but treble extension isnt great and the bass is a bit warm thoughwell extended. You can do better if you spend more (Nordorst Flatline Gold
and DNM Reson)

Well I'm interested to hear your comments and what most of it seems to be saying is that this cable is Ok for the money. To be honest I think it's the best way to strangle a system (I ran this on a budget system for a few years). Just spending a little more will give major improvements. This cable killed off my stereo imaging. If you can go up to QED Silver Qudos or for a bit more Chord Rumour for massive improvements. I don't know if these are Uk only though.
Cheers, Tim

It amazes me how bad cables can get. If you haven't bought any cable talk products or audioquest rubbish then you are a smart and lucky man. These companies have got a huge advertising budget. Sucker magazines with close to zero credibility like What HiFi give products like Cable Talk 3.1 and the super harsh bright Marantz PM-66 K.I product of the year status. Unbelieveble. I have owned a pair of cable talk 4.1 for 6 months. The voice is above average but the bass and everything else is really fat man ! Bass is extremely boomy and undefined....soundstaging is poor...like a instruments floating in the air.
They are probably not the worst cables in the world but they are not average either. Please only look at the pretty pictures of What Hi-Fi magazine only. Have you ever noticed how may pages of advertising Marantz, and Cable Talk take up with them. No credibility what so ever, they mix the truth and rubbish so much that they confuse readers about what fundamentally good sound actually is...clean and uncolored.
