Strength:

detail, midrange reproduction

Weakness:

lack of high detail, bass thin and muddy

At first I enjoyed the great midrange detail, especially on female vocals. But on small jazz combo's, like Dave Brubecks re-mastered "Time Out" (an excellent HDCD re-master) the cymbals didn't "shimmer" like they should, and the string bass was indistinct, individual notes during solos were run together. Now, I had these in for well over 2 months and things didn't get any better with "Burn In".

The last review asked "Are they better that any of the big-dollar competition? " well there are some "lower dollar" competitors that are better. For example the Silver Audio Silver bullet 4.0's are $25 cheaper and WAY better. All the detail, bass and highs were there on vocals and combos (Large Orchestral pieces too). They are better than the MIT stuff, but only comparable to the Kimber Hero (which has much better connectors, not those taiwanese things Harmonic has on theirs, uncalled for for this price range)

Classe .3 CDP
Sonic Frontiers Line 1
Classe C200
Mirage MRM-1

Viva la Canada! All this canadian stuff sounds great and costs little (relatively)

I rate the cable 3.5 on sound and only a 2.5 on value considering other much better cables that cost as much or less. so 3 overall.

This cable has similar characteristics to the Pro-9 speaker cables. I noticed a decrease in noise floor and also soundstage but it makes the sound more realistic. That is the characteristic of this brand as I perceived it. Actually, the main reason I got it is to tame my bright amp. Worth it if you can get them for $150 a pair. The best? No, but in the right system it's useful. I wonder how the future mkII version would sound…

These interconnects are neutral and do not seem to emphasise any particular frequency band. I'm using them between my Audio Alchemy DDE 3.0 and Denon 3200 AV receiver. I was previously using DH Labs BL-1 II as well as Kimber Kable PBJ. Although I wouldn't go so far to say that the Truth-Links are the best sub-$500 interconnects around, you should listen to them if you value neutrality and clarity. They are musical too, not harsh and grainy like some others I have tried. For value for money, I recommend 5 stars.

One of the best kept secrets in affordable high-end cable design. Harmonic Technologies have a winner here! Based on price, build and sound quality offered per hundred of dollar; the " Truth " interconnect can't be touched!!, (so far)..

Strength:

Everything

Weakness:

Nothing

I've spent years looking for a good cable. It seemed that there were two kinds

1. Detailed but light, irritating and unmusical
2. Full, musical but soft and clouded

I've been balancing these two effects by using Tara Labs Prime (type 2 above) from CD to Pre and Audioquest Lapis (type 1 above) from Pre to Power amp. The sound was good but not anywhere near what I'd expect for a system as expensive as mine is.

I tried the Pro Silway II and found them to be good in some areas but belonging to the detailed but light, irritating and unmusical class. Silver cables are often like that in my experience. Yes, I waited for well over 100 hours for them to break in and they still sounded bad in my system although I can imagine they might be great in a valve set-up.

Anyway, then I tried the Truthlink and was stunned. My search is over. These are the cable for me and I bought two pairs immediately. They are so full, natural and most importantly they make me smile. You don't need to analyse the sound, it's just right top to bottom. Nothing missing and the music just gushes forth. You owe it to yourself to at least try these out. If you've got the system these will deliver. They're never fatiguing and not boring either I can hear rich harmonic detail presented in an incredibly natural manner. No matter which CD I put on it was great. Before I was reduced to hearing the 20 gentle CDs in my collection that didn't irritate me, simple female vocal music mostly. Now I can play anything and it sounds great. There's no way to describe it and I'll just frustrate myself trying so just go and borrow a pair for yourself!

I also tried the Pro 11 speaker cable, that is truly excellent too, I'm saving up to buy the Pro 9 speaker cable now.

It doesn't get better than this.

My system:

Pass Aleph L preamp
Pass Aleph 3 power amp

Strength:

Very neutral, detailed, bass, smooth treble, soundstage dimension, build quality

Weakness:

Struggling to find any in my experience

Out of the box I was stunned at the amazing build quality and looks. This represents the end of the line for me in upgrading interconnects, well I will not say "never", but I have absolutely no feeling of ever needing to or wanting to upgrade again.

To these ears in my system, these cables are extremely neutral in tone, leaning just ever so slightly to the warmish side of things with virtually no imparting of a coloration on the sound. This cable has amazing detail retrieval and resolution with an excellent sense of front to back depth of the soundstage. Sounds and instruments have a great sense of depth and space around them with excellent cues to spatial layering, much better than any cable I've heard under $200. These cables seem to break that mold of sounding two dimensional and mechanical, the sheer musicality, cleanliness, realness and naturalness are astounding. The bass is well extended, deep and full, while the midrange is extremely natural and full bodied, the treble very extended and detailed all the while smooth and sweet- riding that fine line of expressing amazing detail while not crossing the line of either being bright, or going the other way and being too sweet, rolled or veiled.

One other very important note is the cables pace and rhythm. The very first thing that hit me when I plugged these cables in for the first time was their speed and quickness, much better than any cable I have ever owned. Over all the sound was simply quicker, transients were quick and sharp, bass was tighter, treble tight and focused. The sense of note decay is startlingly real and natural, sounding more like reality than something synthetic or mechanical. They are amazingly quick and speedy.

Looking to break into the $250+ interconnect market check these out. Some say they can compete with the very best.

Outstanding interconnects. The most transparent cables that I have ever heard, at any price. Read others' reviews: you really have to hear them to believe it. Adds soundstage, no deficiencies in any spectral area, plus they look great and are well-constructed. When A/B'ing different cables, the improvement from these was not subtle....it was ear-opening!
I'm using these cables from my Mark Levinson #39 CD player directly into my Densen power amp.

Strength:

Natural characteristic. Full sounding from top to bottom. Excellent bass.

Weakness:

None.

This cable replaced the Blue Heaven that I thought was the perfect interconnect. The difference was so apparent that I could not believe I fell for the artificial sound the Nordost possesses. The Truth Link is simply the all around winner at any price. The Pro Silway is a bit brighter and lack bass but I wonder if they fixed the problems in the MKII version. In any case, the Truth Link is in a class of its own. Definitely true to the Harmonic Tech sound.

Weakness:

Price, sound

I have recently gone on a cable binge to find the "magic" cable for my system (we all know ti must be out there, right).

I tried 2 of HT cables. I was disapointed by the Truthlink, but really liked the Prosilway II. The truthlink seemed dull and had little detail. The bass was ok but not great. The part I really disliked was the compressed soundstage. I decided to return the Prosilway based on price and keep looking. They didn't sound any better than my current cables, by pure silver sound, and the cost almost $300 more! I actually thought they didn't handle the very top as well as my current silver cables.

Strength:

Great overall performance for the money

I can't believe some of previous reviews, these are very
good copper cables, compete with others costing much more.
Easily superior in all respects to Kimber Hero, not even close.....I also prefer slightly to Cardas Cross, TL has more even tonal balance with more detail. These TLs sound very 3 dimensional, produce good soundstage, very natural vocals. Silver cables like the ProSilway II or SilverAudio offer slightly more detail in treble and upper midrange, and therefore can sound slightly more dynamic overall.....however no matter how nuetral or sweet sounding good silver cables are, they never have the natural warmth, or relaxed sound that good copper cables have....it is a balancing act and will vary from system to system, depends what type of sound you want to achieve. I have both silver and copper cables and often mix/match to achieve the sound I want. My system
