Sound detail, flexibility, looks, price.

Weakness:

none

I never thought speaker cable could make a big difference in sound quality. In my ignorance I thought Monster Cable was THE STUFF. That is until recently when I started reading these HiFi boards and researching sound systems.
I just replaced my monster cable with KK 4PR. OH MY GOD! My speakers have come alive like they've been sort of napping for the past 4 years. This cable is fantastic! And while there are much more expensive cables out there that I'm sure are even more musical than these, the difference these cables have made in my system is SO AMAZING. Like San Francisco when it's foggy versus when it's a crystal clear day! In short, if you are a budget audio enthusiast still using monster cable or some other regular speaker wire do yourself a huge favor and make a small investment in Kimber Kable 4PRs.

Strength:

Good bass, good value

Weakness:

A pain in the ass to terminate

When I bought these cables I was very pleased with their bass. They didn´t even have to burn in first. Their aren´t bright and they make a great 3-D soundstage. Highly recommended.

I was using 16g monster cable and now feel ...wasn't good. I can't believe that $1.80/ft cable made such a difference like this. Now I knew why this cable is the best seller of Kimber. Of course, 4TC or 8TC would be better choice but the price couldn't be compare with this. Just satisfied with this! Happy Listening...

Well this cable made the diff. I was very skeptical about wire making the difference. But when I was on the Paradigm web site they recommended good quality wire so I figured what the heck. Now I'm so glad. It improved bass and treble response instantly. The soundstage is so much better now and I think it was the best $35 I have spent on my system. (aside from a few good CD's) I highly recommend you go out and buy it if you are skeptical and hear the difference. I won't ever skimp on wires again.

Strength:

Good price, excellent performance over cheap zip cord type cables

Weakness:

Time consuming to terminate, but not a problem if you buy them with the terminations already done.

I had a pair of Paradigm Export Monitors connected to the B on my amp that I really never liked the sound of very much. I bought this cable just to see if it would improve the sound, but I was pretty skeptical. At first they sounded bad, and got even worse over the next few hours. I seperated two conductors at each speaker and bi-wired the paradigms (probably a dumb idea) and it help maybe slightly, if at all. But over the next few weeks, and some tweaking of the connections, they started sounding better and better. I have to say I am quite pleased with the sound now. Yhe Paradigms sound better than they ever have, and have become my main speakers. Not sure why, but it may take some time to sound thier best. It is tough to get all the conductors under one binding post sometimes, so if you can, find some good gold compression connectors. (I went to partsexpress.com) Parts express has some good connectors, but will rape you on shipping charges. Excellent cable for the money.

Strength:

there are probably some strengths i would list, but in my case i will not (see full review below)

Weakness:

weak sounding, very little bass, crappy soundstage (see below for an expanation of why this might be)

Well, before I go into what I think about these cables, let me tell you that I had some connection problems that may have contributed to the relatively poor review I am giving these cables. You see, the binding posts on my PSB 5t speakers are larger than the spade size (1/4") that the 4pr's have, so in order to connect them without buying additional banana adapters, I just stuck on prong through the hole in my speaker binding posts, and the other end fit ok around the posts on my Cambridge Audio A500 without a problem. I also used a Cambridge Audio D500se Cd player to listen critically to these cables. Ok, so bearing in mind this limitation on my judgement, since this connection may have sacrificed a little or a lot of audio quality (i don't know what an expert would say about it), i will continue with my review:

These cables, however well they may have worked for others in this forum, worked very poorly for me. I had them along with the Kimber PBJ between my CD player and my intergrated amp. In fact, just today, I took the 4pr's out of my system and replaced them with generic 12 guage speaker wire from Target, and I was happy that my system still sounded half decent! While I had the 4pr's in my system, i began to feel regretful of buying all the gear i got this past fall, in my first foray into hifi audio (psb 5t, cambridge audio a500 and d500se). Earlier when I had the MIT T4's in my system, they brought out a lot of great sounds and details and just had a nice round sound to them that made me feel good about my system. I only returned them because they were too thick and bulky for my setup and furniture. So I tried the "tried and true" 4pr's that had a good reputation overall and a lot of positive reviews on this site.

The sound of these cables, for me, and remember the problems I have with the binding posts, is quite poor even compared to generic speaker wire from Target. The qualities that make them better than generic for me were increased details that cannot be heard with my generic cable, and a bit better soundstage also. But the MIT T4's (which had no binding post problems) were much better at both of these aspects, details (or clarity) and soundstage, plus the T4's had much tighter and more detailed bass and midrange, and as others have said, the MIT cables seemed to make my amplifier sound more powerful (go figure). So, while the 4pr's were in my system for the month of testing I gave them, they sounded downright crappy and i felt bad about buying hifi audio gear altogether. When I put the generic wire back in today, the system didn't sound worse, as I expected, but actually noticably better. Even though the details and the soundstage were a little lost, the bass was much more powerful (I don't understand why, maybe the bad post connection of the 4pr's really made them lose bass), and my system had a LOT more life than it did with the 4pr's. It now sounds a lot more natural and is more fun to listen to (keep in mind that I kep the kimber pbj ic's in while i have the generic speaker wire in).

I'm sorry to give the 4pr's such a raping, but they really sucked bad for me, and I am nearly convinced that it is because of the bad connection, but its also hard to accept that, because they were in there pretty good, just not encircling the post, but again perhaps this has a bigger effect than one would think. To anyone who had better luck, ignore my review. I'm giving neutral ratings so as not to throw off the high average for this cable, and because I think my review may be the exception, not the rule.

The Kimber 4PR are an awesome deal. My 8 foot pair was about 34 dollars with spade terminations. The sound is extremely neutral. I haven't any speaker cables near the price which can compete.

I changed to this cable from MonsterCable 12ga. Although they were about the same price wise, I could tell an improvement over the MonsterCable. The highs seem to be crisper with the 4PR. There is proven physics backing Kimber Kable's braided design, it reduces the amount of noise that the cable picks up. At about $1.25 a foot, this is a great buy and I would recommend the 4PR to anyone on a budjet.

Strength:

Enhanced bass response

Weakness:

I bought Kimber Cable after reading the previous reviews and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I immediately noticed a better bass response while watching movies. My speakers are Polk Audio and these cables improved the sonic response compared to Monster cables. I bought the cables for $1.30/ft so it is a good value.
