Small brain cramp which I realized after I posted my review. The silver speaker cable I listed as Audioquest was actually Tributaries SP-5. I wanted to try the SP-4 silver coated copper cable which received a great Home Theater mag review last year, but my stereo shop didn't have a demo pair available. Everything I had to do a test with a friend of mine that runs a A/V store locally. He told me that you could never hear the difference between any speaker cables. So I went and ordered the 4PR and took them straight over and we had a blind test. His eyes widened and he blushed. Now he has to have them. These cables do bring everything out of your speakers and equipment. Hopefully all the things that you want to hear. I will use only Kimber in my home theater. The clarity and range are phenomenal. I just replaced my Monster cables last night with these, and skeptic though I am, I heard an immediate improvement in sound. I am an engineer and have worked with signal processing and transmission and was positive that cables would not make a difference, as long as they were thick enough. But I started to read up on these and similar cables and the braid (litz) geometry vs. skin effect, etc., and now I believe there is not only an audible difference in sound but a physical basis for that difference as well. I don't know about the exotic materials of the higher-priced cables, though. Similar Products Used: Monster |
