Although I have heard great things about Bill Legall and the Millersound IC's that is not why I am wrting. What I want to know is where can I get the "elfix tool" that Vinh Vu talks about in the earlier review of the Millersound interconnects. I hve checked everywher including thAudio Review where he sadi that he bought it but no luck. If anyone knows email me at bkelly@bkellyusa.com. Thanks!

Strength:

Very musical, neutral, good detail, etc. Outstanding value for the money.

Weakness:

Stiff, but so what. Want good sound don't you?

I had never heard of MillerSound until a little over 2 months ago. The pair of interconnects I now own came by way of a friend that suggested I give a listen. I'm shocked! Especially when I heard how much a meter pair cost.... $140.00. For the money haven't heard a better pair of interconnects (been listen for over ten years). Outstanding musicality, good detail, zero coloration, very good soundstage. Wish I had found them before I dropped the big bucks. MillerSound has found a home on my phonopreamp. Make no mistake about it expensive highend cables (when synergy is correct) will perform outstandingly...at great cost. MillerSound has my vote.

Strength:

Transparent, accurate, and musical

Weakness:

ugly and too stiff.

Have been using these cables for over a year and they are just great! They are accurate and transparent and do not get in the way of the music. I highly recommend these cables.

Strength:

Details, transparency, liquidity in overall sound, more space & air

Weakness:

Stiff, but can be bent at up to right angle to accomodate equipment setup

I have had Millersound for 2 years now and is completely sold on it. Dollar for dollar, it is the best investment in my system (Merlin VSM, AudioPrism Debut II, Jeff Rowland Coherence One, Musical Fidelity CD). And I have used many other name brands.
I second everything the other positive reviews said but would like to add a couple of VERY IMPORTANT points.
First, on the stiffness. You can bend the interconnects up to a right angle to accomodate your equipment setup but do it at least 2-3 inches away from the connectors to avoid breakage problems. So I have not found it to be a real weakness.
Second, it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to make sure the power polarity is correct throughout your system. Each component in your system has some stray current leakage through the chasis and depending on how you plug it into the power socket, one way will leak more than the other, sometimes much more. I use the Elfix tool from Audio Advisor and a cheater plug to test it. Even when your equipment has a three-prong grounded or a polarized plug, it is not a given that it is wired correctly. Your wall socket could also be wired incorrectly. My brother-in-law and I both own the AudioPrism amps and his is wired the opposite way as mine. Using the Elfix tool we found that out. We tested out our systems and found that we got the least leakage by re-wiring the power cords for MY amp and HIS CAL CD player (you can also use the cheater plug to flip the power of your unit).

So back to the Millersound. Since the copper jacket of the wire is one of the conductors, it acts as a very good conductor of stray currents from one unit to the entire system via the jacket. So even if you only had ONE piece in your system that is wired wrong, the whole system is affected. The end result is a dull, veiled sound. Flip the power of the offending unit and voila, the Millersound sound is back. So I suspect Jim K's system may be suffering from this phenomenon. This affects Millersound more than other cables since others have two leads within the outside jacket whereas Millersound uses the copper jacket as one of the conductors.
What this means is that you should check the pieces in your system one by one without having them connected via the interconnects to make sure they are all correct. Then you must recheck the polarity of in your system every time you add a component (just check it separately), or move the system to another power outlet or power conditioner (in case THEY are wired the opposite way).
In fact, once you have it all right, you can experience the difference that I am talking about by flipping the power cord of the most offending piece in your system (the one that has the most stray current when incorrectly plugged in) using a cheater plug. You will be convinced.

Hope this helps some Millersound users out there. If you find your system sounding dull, check it out. If your system used to sound great and then not after you add or replace another piece then by al means, check it out. Not to plug for Audio Advisor but I found the Elfix tool the next best investment to Millersound. There are other meters that you can use to check it as well but with the Elfix, you can hear the leakage yourself.

I would simply like to give credit where credit is due. Millersound is a name that I had not heard of before, but which I am pleased to have discovered. I have purchased from Millersound a .5 meter digital cable for my MSB Link DAC and have been blown away by its transparency and clean sweet presentation. I have no experience with Millersound's interconnects, but plan to upgrade my Kimber PBJ to Millersound's soon.

I bought the digital cable upon recommendation by a fellow audiophile who had purchased Millersound's digital cable and had been very pleased, finding that it topped his Kimber and Illuminati cables which both cost much more than the Millersound cable.

I had only used a Monster 1-meter digital and optical cables on loan from a friend, as basis for comparison, but the difference in clarity and lack of background noise was immediately apparent.

I paid just under $60 for a .5-meter cable and found the service to be excellent. I would recommend anyone looking for a high quality digital cable without the 'audiophile' price to give them a call. They are not on the net yet, but I found their number by calling information. They are located in College PA.

I give this product a solid 5-stars both for value and for quality. I am excited to find people pursuing excellence in audio equipment and technology and not resting on their big name and past successes to grossly inflate prices. Bravo Millersound!

Strength:

dead quiet, fast, clean, tonally neutral, delivers the frequency range from top to bottom

Weakness:

rigid, can be a bear to configure

I have had Millersound cable through out my system for almost four years, now.

Just out of the box, and well before break-in, it destroyed my Illuminati D-60 digital cable, Kimber KCAG interconnects and KCTG speaker cable (the expensive silver stuff). By comparison, the Kimber sounded like an automobile accident; the MIT cables were awfully colored and bloated sounding, the Purest Audio was grossly overpriced.

I am so thankful for Millersound, and the cables they make there: no hype, no B.S., just a hands-down superior product that costs a fraction of what the popular "audiophile" brands do.

The MillerSound is esentially JPS with a slightly different RCA connector. The difference in price is astounding!! Several hundred dollars. A Used 8 foot speaker pair goes on the website for about $200 or less( the size of the Superconductor 2 which retails for $2000 and used for at least $1200 or so) and 1 meter RCA interconnect about $50-$75. New retails for around $350 for speaker cable and $140 for interconnect. All you JPS/Millersound interconnect owners, TAKE off the locking RCA's. The cable will stay in place. The imaginfg and soundstage will open up another level or so. Don't rationalize it... just do it!! The MillerSound is the best product at it's price point. Remember, It looks, feels and performs just like JPS Superconductors at a much much cheaper price.

Highly recommended. I use Millersound btw amp and preamp, and the difference is significant. Liked the PBJs while I had them, but suffer when I replace them in my system. Found it made less difference with my CD player, but your results may vary. High quality construction and materials. Millersound is a class outfit to which I take all business I can. The speaker wires are a dramatic improvement over my Kimber 8TC biwire run. I have not even bothered biwiring since I got my single run of millersound spkr cables. The stiffness of the cables has not been a problem for me. It may even be a plus, given that the cable holds a shape once it has been formed to what you need, and it can be reformed if your needs change.
