Equipment: marantz cd67se cd player with MF x10d line preamp, Adcom gtp450 preamp, four Marantz MA500 amps in Bi-amp configuration, Paradigm studio 60 speakers, VanEvers supercompanion line conditioner, radioshack RF chokes on monster m550i interconnects and an Audioprism CD blacklight mat. Add another cable skeptic to the converted list. Previously was using Monster cable M series (I'm biamping so there are two sets of cables to each speaker). After these cables broke in (48 hours for 75%..200 hours for 100%) a significant improvement over the M cables..soundstage enlarged by 50% more air between instruments.. blah blather blah yak yak.. For a modest $$ more than the Monster's price - big bang. 4 stars

I bought a pair of terminator 5's. They sound incredible. The sound staging is wonderful. The signal passes through better and I had to turn my base and treble gain back to 0. Very good cables, especially for the price.

MITerminator 5
In search of a interconnects? This Interconnect brings out better clarify from low to high level sounds. I bought a pair at Sim Lim Tower for SG$70. It is at a low end price but the performance is excellent after it has been burned in..2 weeks. Value Buy for Budget listener.

FIRST OF ALL, I'M NOT SURE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AUDOPHILE/ENTHUSIAST. HAVE OWNED EVERYTHING THAT'S OUT THERE. I GUESS I AM AN ENTHUSIAST. YES I DO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE, MONEY. OK, HAVING SAID THAT, A GOOD FRIEND JUST TODAY GAVE ME 2 PAIR OF MIT 5'S INTERCONNECTS. SIMPLY OUTSTANDING. YOU NAME IT, IT DOES IT. ALL FOR SMALL CHANGE. I WAS USING APARTURE(NICE STUFF) THEN FOR WHATEVER REASON I PURCHASED A PAIR OF MONSTER 550i's. BIG MISTAKE. HORRIBLE OUT OF THE BOX, AND STILL HORRIBLE. THE MIT'S ARE FABULOUS. NUFF SAID. AND BY THE WAY, I HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED IN STEREOPHILE.

Strength:

Fantastic cables

Weakness:

???

I bought the MIT Terminator 5 last Saturday (11-05).
When I plugged everything together and put my "reference" cd (Fiona Apple, Tidal), it seemed like the soundstage windened a lot, wich was a big improvment over my old cables (Los Cheapos) but the sound was now very "boxy" and grainy. I knew about that break-in period with high end cables and I have to admit that I’m very impressed now. They run form a classic Marantz 1122 DC, very nice and warm sounding amp to a pair of Coda 7. Having owned all kinds of Kef I’m used to their killer midrange and the precision of the Coda 7 fits my (very) small auditorium to perfection. The source is a Marantz CD63 Special Edition, with Audioquest interlinks. Here’s by the way a sub-$1500 system that works pretty darn well !

The cables virtually transformed on the third day of listening. The soundstage is now incredibly wide, deep, the bass totally transformed from muddy and sluggish to tight and nervous, the midrange is superbly crisp and clear, no coloration at all, and so’s the treble. The cables still have a few hours before totally revealing their best and I just can’t wait; I litterally re-discovered some albums and I want to thank MIT for that !

Strength:

improved bass authority, cleaner midrange, detailed highs

Weakness:

none yet

Having completed the burn-in period (2weeks), I can say with certainty that these cables are a steal. I upgraded my subwoofer cables (Radio shack) and the speaker cables to my 3 front speakers (Esoteric Audio). Audioadvisor did not have long enough cables for my rears.

Immediate improvements: My subwoofers sounded better. They had improved output and less distortion.

Gradual improvements over the next 2 weeks: Further improved bass. The midrange and highs also gained in clarity. Furthermore, there was better imageing, particularly in 2ch mode (though this was also evident at the start of burn-in). I have noticed (in DSP modes) that my rear speakers on music sound harsh in comparison to my fronts (AT350THX). This could be a function of the longer speaker runs (Monster XP), but it is not a quality I noticed prior to switching cables.

Highly recommended. The system sounds "smoother" from top to bottom (my wife even noticed). An easy "tweak" to any system for little money. Oh yeah, the networks look really cool.

Strength:

Price

Weakness:

detail, speed.

Don't be mis-lead. These are decent cables for the $1500 and under crowd, and are a good introduction to the difference a good pair of cables can make. Although I disagree with the guy who liked these better than M550 monsters.

Good for the price, but not good for the better gear.

Strength:

1. Thickness of insulation pleasing to eye.
1. Thickness of the cable
The cable looks better than most other cable found in typical retail stores. They do have a subtle improvement in overall sound quality.

Weakness:

Teminator networks (the box at the end of the cable) is cumbersome at times.

Overall, I didn't mind the extra $$ spent on these cables over the cheap looking generic monster cable I bought at Circuit City. Hard to say if their is a dramatic improvement in sound because both the speakers (DT 2000tl) and the cable are new. But I think the cables improve the sound of my system, even if it is pyschosomatic. Note, did have MIT terminator 4 with DT BP8's. Loved that combination. Currently have MIT terminator 2's, can't wait to use them.

Strength:

Tight Bass, Soft hi frequencies, excellent midrange, realistic vocals.

I just bought it last night. And I listened to Nicholas Gunn and I could feel the difference in flute and the tribal beats. This morning I switched on the tuner to listen to Class 95FM and It was too good, The voice were so clear that it felt as if those guys were in my room. The bass is more natual and treble is much less harsh than when compared to my previous cables.
