I have a pair of these cables. I got them for my CD player. I had them on the cd player a few months before I moved them over to my turntable. While I had them on my cd player I disconnected them several times to compare them to the old stock RCA's I was previously using. I had no problems with the connections. And I think they sound pretty good too with both components. I know I'm just at the bottom of the ladder as far as cables go, but these Monsters sound pretty good to me. But I just got me some Kimber speaker cable, so I'm going to go listen. -Mason

I am EXTREMELY angry at this interconnect that I bought to connect my new cd player and amplifier together. At times I have almost wondered if Monster Cable puts a curse on its products, which makes them malfunction so frequently.
I mean, how irritating it is to buy a cable which claims its turbine shaped connectors are revolutionary because they grip so tightly, only to find that after a few weeks, these connectors don't grip at all. At first, things are all very well; the connectors grip on to your component's rca jacks with fierce determination, making it nearly impossible to unplug the cable without causing terrible damage to your equipment. Monster Cable has placed a rubber grip on the end of each lead to facilitate easy gripping when you need to unplug your cables but this is CRAP. You simply can't get enough grip to pull the cable off. I remember sitting there one night, some time ago, and wondering how the hell I was going to disconnect my cable. I am not exaggerating when I say that the plugs on my Denon cd player have been severly damaged by these useless excuses for technology.

The only way, I found I could disconnect the cables was to pull very gently on the cords. This eventually got the cables to let go of my equipment, but I damaged the cables in the process. Recently, I noticed that the right hand speaker wasn't sounding right, and I traced the problem to the trusty Monster Cable whose wires had come loose because I pulled on the cables. I know that this was my fault but the bloody cables simply can't be taken off any other way because your hands slip over the rubber grip.

And also, after you've disconnected and reconnected the cables a few times, the turbine connectors completely stuff up! They don't grip AT ALL which completely defeats the purpose. How annoying! And by this time, you have already damaged the rca jacks on your equipment. The way I see it is that the cables grip like racing tires just long enough to wreck your equipment, and then don't grip at all which is HOPELESS.

Also, I know for a fact that I am not the only person that this has happened to, because when I was buying my cables, I was told that Monster Cable has a good replacement scheme if anything should go wrong. I asked if it was likely for anything to go wrong, and the salesman hesitantly explained that some people had problems with the connectors. Of course this was after I'd paid for the cables, and the salesman assured me that there would be no problems. Also, take a look at some other Monster Cable reviews, and you'll notice that other people have complained about the turbine connectors.

And the price! I paid $120 NZ dollars ($60US) for this monstrosity (pun intended). That is the worst money I have EVER spent in my life. I could have bought so many cds with that, and now I am left with a cable whose right channel doesn't work, whose connectors don't connect, and whose sound isn't even that great.

Monster had a chance to redeem itself because recently I sent this cable in to service, since its right channel wasn't working. They wouldn't fix it under warranty though, nor would they replace it even though I told them about the damage it caused to my components, and the failed turbine connectors. Instead they charged me $12 and just fixed my old pair.

I will NEVER buy another Monster product again, and I am going to tell everyone I know (and I know a lot of people) to stay away from the entire Monster range. If you are reading this and you are thinking of buying Monster products, DON'T! I am going to write to Monster and complain.

Ignore the 1 star below... I give this product ZERO stars.

I bought the ones bundled with the Supervideo S-Video cable to go with my new DVD player. I use them between the DVD player and the TV. I have no complaints at all with the sound they give through the TV speakers. Of course I use the ER-5 straight to my int amp for almost all listening.

I give the bundle 3 stars as a cost effective way to get DVD player cables.

I recently bought these cable to go with my sony dvp-7700 dvd player, before I was using the player with the wires that came with it, but once i hooked up my new monsters the sound, had more bass to it and sounded much clearier. the one complaint those is the turbine connectors that everyone talks about, it is a pain trying to take one of these things off, if these were fixed it would be great.
